2006 ESPN Arthur Ashe Award winner, a graduate of Drew University, program manager at DT Institute, and a world-renowned public speaker, Shamila Kohestani joins the Girls where they discuss living under Taliban rule, her rise in soccer stardom, and her outspokenness about women’s issues worldwide and the life-changing opportunities playing sports can provide.

The attack is yet another on innocent lives in the Capital of Kabul in Afghanistan.  19 young lives were brutally lost and 22 others injured.  The girls dedicate this episode of Little Bites to the lives lost in this outrageous attack on students at Kabul University.

Freshta Taeb and Nadia Hashimi, part of an ambitious group of volunteers dedicated to Afghan-Americans supporting the Biden/Harris campaign. Nadia jan is a Pediatrician, novelist and former Democratic Congressional nominee for Maryland's 6th District. Freshta jan currently leads the Refugee Interventionists Program at Cornerstone Family and Marriage Intervention and the Managing Director of FT Translation Services.

Meghan Kabir is a multi-platinum songwriter and singer.  Having written chart-topping hits like Kelly Clarkson's "People Like Us," Selena Gomez's "Live Like There's No Tomorrow" from the Ramona & Beezus soundtrack, and over 10 Billboard charted songs, her success is remarkable!  With a deep love and fondness for Afghan culture, food, and dress Meghan speaks with the Girls about her musical influences, including Ahmad Zahir and Haider Saleem, as well as Nashville Country Music and LA Pop Stars.

Re-releasing this important episode on mental health with Dr. Nausheen Yunas on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. Dr. Yunas is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Woodbridge, Virginia.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University and her doctorate from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.

Azita Ghanizada is an Afghan-American actress.  She had a leading role in Syfy's "ALPHAS,"  starred opposite Michael Shannon & Rachel Weisz in "Complete Unknown," recently recurred on both "Ballers," and "Good Trouble." She is here to talk to the Girls about being an Afghan actress in Hollywood, her struggle to overcome adversity within the community, & how she became an advocate with MENASA.
