Thursday | 10/1/2020 | Candidate Corner Pt. 3 - Good Morning Aurora Presents: Tracy Miller (candidate for Kane County Board dist. 4)

How many of you are familiar with what the Kane County Board does? Better yet, are you aware of the size of Kane County and how many cities are in it? Neither were we for many of those questions! That's why today was fun and informative; it was awesome to meet and talk to Tracy Miller! She's running for Kane County Board (district 4) and we chopped it up a whole lot in an hour. From her beginnings in Naperville to coming to Aurora, we really got to know more about who she is and her experience. Tracy is a CPA, former Metra passenger (good times & memories!) and dedicated public servant. November 3rd is coming up soon and it's important to speak to the folks running to get their take on life, liberty and Aurora. We spoke about government, coffee, and we took a time for humanity this morning. It's important to never forget who we are and what we're trying to accomplish.

Shouts go out to our friends at Tredwell Coffee and the City of Aurora. Shout out to alderman O'Donnell and the rest of the City Council. Shouts also go to our friends at VizoArts and to the Aurora Tap House. Tomorrow we've got Chocolate In Your Pocket for music Friday so tune in to that! So many shout outs, so little time! A very special thanks to all of our friends, listeners and subscribers. Today is Thursday and the weekend is fast approaching. Be safe, blessed and motivated today. We'll see you all tomorrow morning on the 2nd largest city's 1st daily news podcast. Peace!

Wednesday | 9/30/2020 | Understanding The Way w/ Noah Way (Aurora Native & Filmmaker)

Wednesday | 9/30/2020 | Understanding The Way w/ Noah Way (Aurora Native & Filmmaker)

It was a learning experience in the studio today. Noah Way came by and spoke with us about life, making film and telling the story for others. When we began the interview it was clear that we had much to discuss! From travel to organizing talent, this is a young man who has achieved a lot. Noah's first film "Rinks" was where we began the interview and he also spoke with us about his second project: "Ekstasis". Since the pandemic in our country production may have slowed but creativity has not! An avid writer, Noah spoke with us about all the scripts and screenplays he's working on and we can't wait to see his work. Now we also got down to the process of filming a movie, his style and also his vision when creating. For those who have an interest into the heart and soul of a person wile creating; that's what our questions centered around with Noah. The 3 words Noah gave to sum himself up were: creative, artistic & helpful. All facts.

Shouts go out to Cotton Seed Creative Exchange, VizoArts and our friends on the Aurora Public Art Commission. All we do is win. Shouts go out to all Aurora artists and to All Spoked Up. Special thanks to Dunkin' Dounts on Free Coffee Day yesterday (the extra donut holes). Thank you to all of our listeners, fans and subscribers. We appreciate you all and we've got much more to come. We will see you all tomorrow morning for another great interview. Be motivated and creative.

Tuesday | 9/29/2020 | Choppin' It Up w/ Molly Compton: Special Edition Music Tuesday

Tuesday | 9/29/2020 | Choppin' It Up w/ Molly Compton: Special Edition Music Tuesday

Mandolin music early in the morning; just like that: special edition Tuesday. Our conversation with Molly Compton today was great! Today we talked about the music business, doing what you like & having great mentors. Molly is an accomplished musician who plays both ukulele and mandolin. As a Chicago resident we appreciated her time and sitting down with us. It was especially cool to talk about the music scene both mainstream and underground in Chicago. One of the biggest initiatives Molly is involved in is the Midwest Music Expo. It's been on hold due to the pandemic, but we all hope for brighter days and a return to the MMX!

Shout out to Professor Atkins, parents and all of the positive people out there. Don't forget the Virtual Manufacturing Day Hiring Event (online) hosted by the Kane County Sheriff's Office. That takes place Thursday the 1st from 9 to 11 am. First Friday is approaching and it will be a lot of fun. For more information check out Aurora Downtown's website, FB and Instagram page. Don't forget to like and subscribe to the show on YouTube! More great content and behind the scenes content like "the bee story"! Tune in tomorrow morning to the 2nd largest city's 1st daily news podcast! Be motivated and safe.

Friday | 9/25/2020 | Alika Arlynn Band on Good Morning Aurora

Friday | 9/25/2020 | Alika Arlynn Band on Good Morning Aurora

Lyrics, learning how to play guitar and a show tonight in SHOREwood. Shorewood, not Streamwood! Music Friday returned today with Alika & Dakota of the Alika Arlynn Band. So we also learned that even musicians still get nervous from time to time. It's all about chasing your dreams no matter what however. The band played two songs today so we were happy to experience the live music in our studio. The first song was right after the news portion of the show and the second was a wrap up. Both of these people have a wealth of experience and they shared it with us. We also spoke about family life and what a show is like. The group has 5 songs and they sound really good. They also do covers and they mentioned that the shows where they cover Journey or Motley Crue have been wildly popular in the past! Oh, and we also got to see Dakota play a little bit and learn about finger placement. It was a lot of fun today; music Friday's just keep getting better and better!

Don't forget the Run For Hunger 5K and the CUPS Bra Drive, which will be on October the 2nd (1st Friday). Shouts go out to our friend Gin Ingram and her Peace Of Art Camp. Shouts also go out to VizoArts, Good Morning Aurora staff and Aurora Tap House. Tomorrow the Census team needs help from 10 am to noon so please consider volunteering if you can. Also, a very special thanks to all of our listeners and subscribers. Thank you to the City of Aurora, Aurora Public Art Commission and A Call To Shoulders. Have a safe and motivated weekend and we will see you all Monday on the 2nd largest city's 1st daily news podcast. Peace!

Thursday | 9/24/2020 | The History of Aurora w/ Tracy Duran

Thursday | 9/24/2020 | The History of Aurora w/ Tracy Duran

Did you know that the man who created the Cadillac, Henry Leland, is also the namesake of Leland Towers? Neither did we! And also, at one time in American history it was the tallest building in Illinois outside of Chicago. And just like that, the morning show became a history show. Today's conversation with local author & historian Tracy Duran was fantastic. We had a great time perusing through the pictures and memorabilia she brought with her on todays show. Tracy is an Aurora native and has deep, longstanding ties to our city. For her, history isn't just a hobby: its a full blown passion. From 1914 East Aurora High School yearbooks, old phone books and press photos; our city has a rich legacy and we got to take part in it today. Also Tracy has been a listener of ours since our early days of recording in the bathroom. We appreciate her and all of our other listeners and fans. When we speak of community and coming together we mean everyone, and Tracy gets that. Her work is awesome and she takes time in her information and writing. We're glad to have had her on the show, and rest assured, she WILL be back!

Shout outs go to all of our friends at the Aurora Township, O.N.U.S. (Our Neighbors United & Strong) and our State Representatives of the 83rd & 84th districts. Much love to our crew at Tredwell and much respect to all of the organizations out there in Aurora committed to change. Remember to get out and vote, get involved and seek ways to make a difference in your community. Seize life by the horns; take it, don't wait for it. Big shouts go to the Slade family, and the staff of Good Morning Aurora. Thank you to all of our subscribers, fans and listeners. Stay tuned for another great episode tomorrow and next week we've got even more great content for you! Be blessed, motivated and fearless.

Wednesday | 9/23/2020 | EA Counseling, Dr. Goldman & Good Morning Aurora

Wednesday | 9/23/2020 | EA Counseling, Dr. Goldman & Good Morning Aurora

Care and respect for the individual, all from the east side of Aurora. That's what we saw, learned and discovered when speaking with Dr. Amanda Goldman of East Aurora Counseling & the Judah Robinson Foundation. Mental health has many stigmas associated with it and Dr. Goldman smashes those and truly goes above and beyond to help people. This is so special because many people are seeking help but do not know who to access the care they need. For years, Dr. Goldman has been a staple in our community and her team are changing lives daily. International travel was also a topic of our discussion because she's explored the world and brings a global perspective to life. We spoke about Kuwait, Naperville, and establishing a rapport with clients and professionals alike. We're proud that there are good people in our city willing to help others. As she said: "the antidote to stigma and shame is pride."

Shouts go out to VizoArts and McCarty Mills, also to the City of Aurora. We appreciate all the help and support from out fans and we're glad to see so many positive initiatives taking lace. Don't forget to come our and help for the census this weekend and also shout out to 6th Ward Alderman Mike Saville. Shouts go out to all Aurora artists as well, and a huge thank you to our friends over at Cotton Seed Creative Exchange and Tredwell. We're proud to be the 2nd largest city's 1st daily news podcast. Stay tuned for all we have coming soon; all the news!
