    Who you are currently being in the world is a culmination of the things you have practiced so many times you have quite literally become those things. Clients will often say, “that’s just the way I am” as if they are bound to that way of being forever.
    Not true!
    If your practices to this point in your life shaped your current state of being, new practices can develop you into a new state.
    To develop new practices, however, you are going to have to face the truth of your current practices (minus the blame, shame, and judgment).

    I talk a lot in my work about the concept of Buffering, which is when we try to change our emotional landscape with something outside of us.
    We feel lonely so we eat.
    We feel bored so we scroll social media.
    We are stressed or uncomfortable so we drink.
    The problem with buffering is two-fold:
    It distracts us from the truth of our life.
    It has long-term consequences.
    Buffering with alcohol has some unique consequences I believe for the perimenopausal and menopausal populations, which is the age group I primarily work with.
    So I could not be more thrilled to be hosting Veronica Valli on the podcast.
    Veronica Valli is changing the narrative on sobriety. With 21 years of sobriety and 19 years of experience as a recovery coach and psychotherapist, she understands that there is no ONE path to sobriety.

This podcast is saving my life!

I have struggled with living a healthy lifestyle much of my life. This has lead to weight problems and as I have aged, other problems have "snowballed". I have tried MANY diets over the years, lost weight only to regain plus some. Courtney's approach is what I have needed- learning that losing weight does not always equal good health, rather good health leads to optimal weight! There are SO MANY other things that need to be addressed besides diet and exercise. Please listen to these podcasts; helpful to women of all ages! I wish I had found something like this earlier in my life!
