Grief Relief: It Takes Time

Grief relief- it takes time. It takes time and it takes daily effort. After losing her son, Brian, 24, and both of her parents in the same year Mary Wuerdeman, came face to face with the profound loneliness and heartache of loss. The GRiTT podcast is not only a tribute to Brian, but sharing and hearing others stories here has been her path to back to living again. And not just the path to living again, but the path to living her life on purpose with love and gratitude. Mary's deepest hope is that listening to the GRiTT podcast will inspire you to do the same.
GRITT What do you need to move on

This one spoke to me...especially the part that said you question what you are supposed to do with your grief. I’ve been struggling with this a lot. I feel like I need to use it to help others but I’m not sure in what way. I know part of this is being a great surrogate parent to our grandson, but I think there must be other ways. And what do I need to move on? I need assurances that he is going to grow up and live a normal, happy life, free of the pain of addiction (yet it will always have a presence because he lost his mom to it), but I need assurance that he won’t PERSONALLY suffer from it. I think if I could know this, I could feel more at peace. I know that worries about the future can rob today of its joy, so I don’t want to dwell on it, but it’s always there in the back of my mind.
