KaaS Technical Expert Series: Cyber Security Mesh Architecture (CSMA)

KaaS Technical Expert Series: Cyber Security Mesh Architecture (CSMA)

According to Gartner's predictions, "By 2024, organizations adopting a CSMA will reduce the financial impact of security incidents by an average of 90%."
Cyber Security Mesh Architecture (CSMA) is a network design that helps to protect an organization's data and systems from cyber threats.
In a mesh architecture, each node is responsible for protecting a specific aspect of the network, such as a specific server or application. These nodes are connected to each other and share information about potential threats, allowing them to quickly detect and respond to attacks.
Overall, a CSMA helps to provide a multi-layered defense against cyber threats, making it more difficult for attackers to successfully penetrate an organization's network.  Takeaways from this session:
What is Cyber Security Mesh Architecture (CSMA)? Key considerations and benefits Who needs to be involved How to get started Pitfalls to avoidView video here: mobiuspartners.com/csma.

KaaS Technical Expert Series: Breaking Down Networking as a Service (NaaS)

Is it really pay for what you use and elastic as we expect from As-A-Service?
Join us for a brief discussion around Network as a Service (NaaS), and then we’ll open it up for “ask me anything.”  What you’ll take away from this session:

Secrets to Success: Real Insights Into One Business’ Transformation Journey with Director of Enterprise Architecture, Resilience, Enterprise Integration Services and Agile Office at Ameren

Enabling business outcomes is the goal for all IT organizations, but it’s much easier said than done.
Kishore Koduri, Director of Enterprise Architecture, Resilience, Enterprise Integration Services and Agile Office at Ameren, has had tremendous success achieving those outcomes and he shares tips and advice for others on their transformation journey.

Building a solutions from concept to scale and implementing a new business modelTransforming an existing legacy monolith solution or applicationBuilding an architecture and resiliency practice at a Fortune 500 companyFrom Concept to Scale

The world is filled with people who have great ideas. With brilliant minds who can come up with brilliant solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems.
But the problem is, you’ve got to be able to not only come up with a solution, but come up with a way to scale that solution to work in a larger setting. To understand innately the problem that you are trying to solve.
Before you start building any core team for anything, you need to intimately understand the problem you are trying to solve. Leaders need to ask questions.
“Before you start building a core team, you need to understand the problem you are trying to solve.” — Kishore Koduri
What is the success criteria going to look like? Bring in functional as well as technical people. It’s not all about subject matter experts when you’re building a core team. It’s about having people with good team building skills as well as soft skills.
Diversity is the name of the game when you’re building those core teams.
Transforming an Existing Legacy Monolith Solution

As with most methodologies, it’s all about people, processes, and technology. It all starts with understanding the problem, as we talked about earlier. Knowing where you’re headed. This is the process leg of the stool.
Then once you know that, the agile journey of transforming your existing legacy solution into one that is more efficient, helpful, and that works for everyone.
“If you really want to achieve excellence, you need to have a way of measuring and continuously improving what you're doing.” — Kishore Koduri

Facing Current IT Challenges and Leading with Empathy with CTO at Smart Financial Credit Union

Facing Current IT Challenges and Leading with Empathy with CTO at Smart Financial Credit Union

In the wake of the pandemic, the remote work boom, and The Great Resignation, retaining and developing top talent is more important than ever in any industry — and IT is no exception.
You want to ensure you can adapt to the rapidly shifting work landscape.
You need to lead with empathy.
That’s how Marcus Manning leads as Chief Technology Officer at Smart Financial Credit Union, where he is learning new strategies for accommodating the post-pandemic professional world.
    Join us as we discuss:
How to decide between an office, remote or hybrid environmentWhy leading with empathy is so importantHow to build trust across your organizationEveryone is re-evaluating their career choices these days, so how can your business attract and retain the best? Let’s drill deeper.
“IT has really become the backbone of any organization. IT is no longer just nice to have, it is a necessity.” — Marcus Manning
    A problem-solving foundation
Marcus has been in IT since his college days at Texas State. “Coding is great,” he jokes, “but I need some people interaction.” He deftly blended his technical expertise with the more ephemeral skills needed to build and lead successful teams.
He started out in the petroleum industry, spent time with Continental Airlines prior to their merger with United, and then the Texas Children’s Hospital before spending over eight years in the credit union field.
These well-rounded experiences prepared Marcus for his elevation to the C-suite at Smart Financial. A coding background enhances your ability to solve problems with an analytical mindset.
In the midst of this digital transformation, every business is a technology business now, no matter what your main product might be.
    Crafting the perfect culture

Marcus points out that your people are your most important asset right now. You can spend a lot of money on advanced tech solutions, but you also need skilled workers in place to ensure those systems are running as efficiently as possible.
