Customer Reviews
Awesome music industry interviews!
Michael asks these music folks incredibly interesting questions. I think something like three people have cried while being interviewed. An archive of music greats that will become increasingly valuable
Endlessly insightful...
I simply love listening to Michael engage in such thoughtful, insightful, and well research interviews. It's clear how well he knows not only the music of each guest, but also their whole culture and career, right down tot he smallest details. One of my favorite things about it is that I don't know a lot of the guests he has on, so it's a fantastic way of discovery new artists and their music (whether they're current or musicians who were contemporaries of The Beatles or Bill Monroe who are still kicking). PRO TIP: If you enjoy this podcast, make sure to tune in to the Michael Shelley show on WFMU.org, every Saturday around midday. Talk about some great sets!
Wonderful underappreciated stories
Thanks, Michael, for continuing to care about folks that have meant a lot to me and others, but have fallen out of public conscienceness: egs, PF Sloan, Will Birch, and Emmitt Rhodes (your interview with him was just extraordinary!). I also enjoy your shows on more established artists: Tom Petty (Zanes), Donald Dunn.
