Episode 79 - Mount Suckmore with Marc Wagner

Episode 79 - Mount Suckmore with Marc Wagner

It's hot as f**k outside and the future is looking pretty grim. But hey, at least we have comics. Speaking of which, we're joined with South Dakota-based cartoonist Marc Wagner to talk about his new book Meddle out now on Strangers Publishing. The boys get into it about his past work, how he got into comics, and his process. As usual, we answer listener questions and hint at some changes being made to our annual Pimps & Simps Awards. Oh, also Cam says a few slurs but he had them edited out due to the PC POLICE, which have gone too far if you ask us!! 1984, ever heard of it????!

Check out more of Marc's work on Instagram @marcmakesthings.

Episode 76 - The Dark Knight's Dong Rises with Ryan Alves

Episode 76 - The Dark Knight's Dong Rises with Ryan Alves

When the 2021 Guysner Award winner Nate McDonough asked us to have Providence-based cartoonist and illustrator Ryan Alves on an episode, we knew this was a big favor. Would we set a dangerous precedent by allowing someone to dictate who comes on? Would Ryan Alves meet the high watermark set by past guests? The answer to both questions is yes. If you're a Guysner winner, you get more leeway. And besides, Ryan is great and he would've been on the show anyway. To Nate's credit, he did expedite the process. Again, Guysner. After a few scheduling conflicts, we finally sat down with Ryan to talk about his rapidly growing body of work including Bubblegum Maelstrom and Moustache, why he got into comics, his experience at the Winter Hocking Hills Cartoonist Retreat, and who has the biggest hog in Batman's rogues gallery (it's Bane).

Check out his work at on his website and follow him on Instagram @alvestagram and Twitter @AWE_comics.

Excellent and Unique Podcasts

The news segment isn't really news, it's just complaining about nonsense but the interviews are always A++. JB and Cam seem cool, I guess. 5 Stars
