G2B at GameHole Con 2022: Zeb Cook and Tom Wham!!!
Audio Only Version Below One has to wonder how G2B consistently gets so many of the gaming industry's most interesting people to interview. Some think it is due to the Gutter Geek's reputation as some of the best interviewers in the business. Most likely though it's the free beer. Today we have a couple of the most amazing interviews we have ever done. Part1:The gang chats with David "Zeb" CookWhen you talk with “Zeb” Cook you have to bring in a few friends who would love to chat with him, Larry, Christopher and Michael. Did I mention we were super excited to have Zeb on the show. David "Zeb" Cook is a very former designer from the heyday of TSR in the 80's and 90's, responsible for 2E AD&D, Oriental Adventures, Planescape and more., He transitioned to video games in the 90's and worked n more stuff like Fallout 2, City of Villains, and Elder Scrolls Online. He is now transitioning to retirement. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/people/David-Zeb-CookWiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cook_(game_designer) Part 2:G2B gets Tom Wham on his first podcast ever. So who is Tom Wham? He’s been a game designer his entire life. He is listed as TSR’s 13th employee, so he was there pretty much from the very beginning of it all. This is an interview to check out for sure. I have streamlined D&D 5e to teach kids how to play, thanks to being in grad school for a Master’s in Education. The initial Kids D&D session is 2 hours and is made for ages 7+. It’s roughly one hour of character creation and then an hour of adventure. From there we form groups and run campaigns with whoever signs up. This is a great way for kids to get started in D&D. Christophor also helps out a ton for the Midwest Gaming Classic. MGC just happens to be one of G2B’s favorite times of the year. MGC will be held March 31st - April 2nd 2023 at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee. G2B at GameHole Con 2022: Caught in the Backrooms
Audio Only Version Below Join the Gutter Geeks as they visit with Scott Ahern to chat about Caught in the Backrooms! Caught in the Backrooms is a dark, gritty RPG, based around the Creepypasta Backrooms. Developed with heavy inspiration from the Backrooms, the creators strived to make the feel as close to the legends that surround this evil, creepy world. The game was designed by Al Seeger and Chad O. Knight. Point of Insanity Game Studio has its roots in the breakup of Lasaion Games back in 2004. Al's return to the world of RPG design took the form of a game called MADS, which was intended to convert characters from any set of rules into a common system. The main purpose of this system was for fans of Demon's Lair (the only product line released by Lasalion Games) to continue to use their characters. Al would go on to write several systemless game world settings, system neutral products, and original game systems. See them at Evercon January 20-22 2023 in Wausau, WI Web: https://www.caughtinthebackrooms.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/poigamestudioTwitter: https://twitter.com/poigamestudio
