Episode 68: Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist [with Brett Gregory and Jack Clarke]

In the sixty-eighth episode of the Hammer & Camera podcast, we have the privilege of discussing a truly unique film and interviewing its filmmakers. Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist is a work of socialist absurdism, a gonzo filmmaking production that attempts to reveal profound truths about human existence under late capitalism. We offer our review of the film and interview director Brett Gregory and producer Jack Clarke about their inspirations, the film's storied production, and how audiences have responded.

Insightful

I enjoy the relationship between Taylor and Phil and their knowledge of film. Phil has made several comments that feel a bit dismissive of women in the film industry, but they’re not terrible. I think I’m just hung up on him rating Candyman 2021 higher than Spencer for the simple reason that he didn’t identify with her character. His logic just felt a bit narrow. But overall interesting content
