    HOW S3 EP.3 Mahogany L Browne / Writer, Educator, Organizer & Curator

    HOW S3 EP.3 Mahogany L Browne / Writer, Educator, Organizer & Curator

Mahogany L. Browne is a California born, Brooklyn based writer, educator, activist, mentor, and curator. We first saw her at a reading at Greenlight bookstore in Ft Greene Brooklyn and we were struck. Since then she’s held teaching and mentoring positions at the Neyourican, BRIC, BAM, Pratt, and even more positions both nationally and internationally. In short, she is a force. And if that wasn’t perfectly clear in writing, it became crystal clear in real life on our ride this spring where we talk about everything from travel, to eating, the idea of “pressure cooker” art, and finally, when enough is enough. Take a listen.

    HOW S3 Ep.2 Robyn Kanner / Design

    HOW S3 Ep.2 Robyn Kanner / Design

If we had to pin Robyn as a single or an album, we’d definitely say she’s a special edition re-released double disk of b-sides, rare tracks, and backstage stories. But that’s only if you pinned us down. Join us for episode two, Wheelers, and listen to designer and writer Robyn Kanner talk with us on a drive from Brooklyn to the Lower East Side. It was a warm night, with some hot coffee and an equally hot convo. Listen up! As usual, you’ll find links below to some of Robyn’s work, along with a link to her RAD playlist that feels like a goddamned love letter straight to our hearts. And we accept, with pleasure. XXoo, Wheelers!

A smart, casual take on the 'conversational' genre of podcast, two creative ladies take their weekly guest for a ride and discuss the guest's creative endeavors and the background that led them there. They start off the episode just the two of them discussing a question of their own--sometimes related to what they'll discuss with the guest, others not. The show is at its best when it moves beyond merely plugging the guest's products or services to the philosophy or motivation behind what they do. I felt with the third episode that they were really starting to get a good feel for what they're trying to do. Keep it up!
