08.10.20 (MP3): Summer Gearhead Season w/ Care & Feeding Tricks for K&N Filters, Popped Radiators & Blown Bearings, Podcast Logic, + Introducing Garage Hour's Explosion of the Week

08.10.20 (MP3): Summer Gearhead Season w/ Care & Feeding Tricks for K&N Filters, Popped Radiators & Blown Bearings, Podcast Logic, + Introducing Garage Hour's Explosion of the Week

You don't crawl, carve, peel or plink into the dog days of summer without maintenance (and expensive parts). The Gearhead Consultancy took a few to clean up K&N (and K&N-style) gauze-based filters, including tricks from the diesel universe about getting your cotton (element) its whitest.

There's more than filters: exploded radiators and exploding neighborhoods (stop blowing up your neighbors and just give it to the plants), and upcoming episodes (shopping for guns in a seller's market). #Becausegearhead!

07.30.20 (MP3): Is How You Drive Who You Are? What You Do Because You Forget It's Not Just You, Traffic Physics & Driver Psychology, Necessary (Partial) Conformity, Moral Narcissism, Auto Isolation + the Zen of Traffic

07.30.20 (MP3): Is How You Drive Who You Are? What You Do Because You Forget It's Not Just You, Traffic Physics & Driver Psychology, Necessary (Partial) Conformity, Moral Narcissism, Auto Isolation + the Zen of Traffic

There's theory and reason supporting the hypothesis that how you drive is a look into the issues you haul around. When you descend into a trancelike state-of-traffic that isolates you from the road and your mortal presence, all kinds of creepy stuff comes out!

The Gearhead consultancy peels a few layers back from your Fruedian freeway behavior, but your problems run pretty deep. Let's hope this episode gives you the motivation to revisit what you call driving but those in the next lane view with horror.

07.21.20 (MP3): Steel for Shooting & Targets for Testing (w/ Bullets), Blasting Brake Rotors, Ripping Up Rebar, (Don't) Hold Your Own, More Reasons Not to Buy Things Made in China, + Announcing the Freedom:30 & Garage Hour Range Cleanup

The firearm folks at Freedom:30 joined the gearhead consultancy to chat about what to shoot when shooting, including AR500, hanging targets (like Freedom:30's new mining bits - only in Colorado), and freebies like brake rotors. There's also yelling about cleaning up once you're done.

Because there's more to life than guns, we've got more: oil leakage, Japanese engines, bench-pressing transmissions, and we catalog a few more reasons not to buy Chinese sh!t. Then Hostus Maximus Justin Fort gets bleeped.

Good gearhead stuff.

Met this dude at the track once. He was test-driving for Ford or one of the car mags. Funny as Hell and just a little crazy. He does good talk radio.

Funny!!!!

Great stuff! Always funny!

The Real Hank Watson ,

Gearhead stuff! Love these guys.

I've been listening to the Garage Hour for years. These guys mess with cool gearhead stuff all the time, and they're real geeks, not poseurs - they don't talk about it unless they know about it. Tell your friends. This show is treasure waiting to be found.
