Welcome to Happily Cinemarried where your married hosts, Liz and Terry, celebrate the cinematic, the artistic, and the culturally fascinating. We will choose a theme each week and discuss which films, books, and tv shows make our list. A love for art & culture brought us together, and we've spent our marriage making art, traveling, reading, and watching tv & movies. Our spirited conversations together inspired us to create Happliy Cinemarried!

His House (2020)
Liz picked this horror debut feature by Remi Weekes about Sudanese refugees in England and the haunted house they are forced to stay in.
CW: language, war violence -
Cat People (1982)
Terry picked this erotic thriller remake of 1942's Cat People. We discuss what we hated and what we loved (well, what we liked is probably more accurate).
CW: language, violence, sex -
Poltergeist (1982)
Liz chose this iconic 80's horror film to review Halloween weekend. We discuss its possible allegories, symbolism, and of course, the "Poltergeist Curse".
CW: language, conversation about murder, drug use -
Shivers (1975)
Terry chose this horror cult classic that was director David Cronenberg's first feature length film. We discuss possible allegories and whether the film holds up today.
CW: language, conversation about sexual violence, murder -
JoJo Rabbit (2019)
Thanks to one of our patrons, Don, who asked us to review this World War 2 dark comedy written and directed by Taika Waititi (who also created the vampire mockumentary What We Do In the Shadows, a film we review exclusively for our Patreon!)
CW: language, discussion on racism, war violence -
Flash Gordon (1980)
Terry's pick this time is a campy sci-fi adventure flick based on the 1930's comic strip.
CW: language, discussion about sexual innuendos and racism

Interesting
The podcast would be way better if Liz would stop saying interesting every other minute.
5 stars
Great listen! I hope you cover more of David Lynch’s films in future episodes.
Creative Insightfulness
I like the way Liz and Terry go through the movies, providing their commentary and looking at it through lenses that you typically don’t hear about when listening to people reviewing movies. They not only highlight their thoughts on the films, but they dive into the feelings the films bring out and give you a unique breakdown.
