After stating his confidence in the faith of the readers at the end of chapter 10, the writer now elaborates on what faith is and does--with many examples.

After issuing a stern warning to the readers not to abandon faith in Christ -10-26-31-, the author continues to encourage them to persevere by focusing on what god has promised for those who do.

The first word in Hebrews 10-19 -therefore- marks a significant turning point in the epistle, as it begins applying the rich theology of the past chapters to the life of the church.

This passage is the climax of the doctrinal section of Hebrews and continues the description that began in chapter 9 of the amazing sacrifice of Christ.

After showing that our eternal High Priest Jesus has a better Covenant in chapter 8, the author of Hebrews now shows that he has a better Tabernacle -9-1-12- and Sacrifice -9-13-10-18-, truths that impact us strongly today.

In Hebrews chapter 7, the writer showed us that Jesus is greater than any earthly high priest, and because the priesthood had changed, the covenant must also change. In chapter 8, the writer shows us how-in Christ-the new covenant is greater than the old.
