Heart Talk // Part 4 Cornerstone Church Sermons

    • Christianity

One of the themes of human living that the bible addresses over and over is the power of our words. Speech is an awesome and powerful part of our humanity. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). What good our mouths can do, and unfortunately, what bad. Have you ever met anyone who uses their speech perfectly well? Isn’t it true that most of us, maybe all of us are in need of divine help in harnessing our words for good things so that we bring life and healing to people instead of inflicting hurt on even those we love? The Bible tells us that every word we utter comes from one source...the heart. In fact, our speech is a powerfully clear window that can show us our heart health. Jesus said, “For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” Matthew 12:34 (NLT). So let us learn to speak well for the sake of others. How is that even possible when James tells us,“no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.”(3:8)?
Welcome to the Heart Talk series, where we will learn to harness the power of our words to bring life to those around us!
