Sunset Strip, a liminal space

Great LA vibe! As Venice born and raised til 4 (off to Santa Cruz for more great parenting!!), I love the cutting analysis of LA along with the love of this amazing cityscape. Also, I worked at Cafe Wha? In 1990. And learned in 2008 that my own mother was at Cafe Wha in early 60s and saw the Dylan bombs/gets kicked off by Manny, who I also knew!! So fun to hear it from this saucy perspective!

Good story that needs editing

Agree with all the complaints about the narrator’s delivery, cadence and vocal fry. Also, this needs to be edited to make the story more concise, and rid of the sidebars inside of sidebars. The bias in Heidi’s favor almost makes me think that Heidi commissioned this podcast.

I really wanted to like it

I agree with the other comments about the narrator’s vocal fry and cadence. It made listening difficult. I was most annoyed with the amount backstory and time given to unimportant details (the detective’s father’s backstory, posters on her kid brother’ bedroom wall). When she returned to the actual story, I often forgot where she left off.
