84. Fatherless by Divorce but not Deserted by God with Erin Davis Help! I'm Raising Fatherless Kids

    • Parenting

In God’s ideal design, human fathers are supposed to be a shadow of our Heavenly Father, showing their kids what it means to be seen, heard, disciplined, loved, and taken care of. For all those reasons and more, it’s devastating when a child learns that their parents are getting divorced. Life as they knew it changes, leaving them to navigate a path that could lead to further destruction as they process the loss, and in some cases, lose out on a deep connection with dad. But, there is hope in the promise that they are never deserted by God, a Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5).

In this episode, the following is discussed:

How to handle the ongoing pain of loss from divorce

Guiding children through stages of anger

The importance of honoring a dad who is not honorable

Tips for moms raising children impacted by divorce
