OCR Drops More + NCSAM Week 3 Healthcare

OCR Drops More + NCSAM Week 3 Healthcare

We get to week 3 of #BeCyberSmart NCSAM. We had no idea when we made this plan that OCR would start dropping settlements at the same time. After a pretty quiet year they announced more settlements in September than they ever had in a single month before. Again, we have a lot to review! Reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes:

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  Ferris Bueller

Athens Ortho Settlement + NCSAM Week 2

Our commitment to include #BeCyberSmart each week this month did not anticipate that OCR would set a record for resolution announcements in September. This week we give you info to plan for next week’s activities for NCSAM plus a review of the Athens Orthopedic resolution agreement. A lot to cover!

Donna and David make HIPAA fun...really!

I have been listening for almost 3 years. I use this podcast to stay up to date...and turn my brain on while driving to work at 6:00 am. Listening to D & D, allowed me to learn a lot and fast...and it’s not painful like reading the law can be (and I’m a licensed attorney so I’ve read a lot of law). I listened to them and other HIPAA podcasts when I started my privacy and security position...and this is the only HIPAA podcast I still listen to. It’s a high quality produced show and so informative.
