Hi, I’m EmRata, aka Emily Ratajkowski. Maybe you know me from my work as an actress or model, or maybe you’ve read my bestselling book, My Body. I’m interested in marrying everything high and low brow by talking pop culture and happenings that may seem frivolous in a way that raises big questions.

On this podcast, I’ll be talking everything from politics, philosophy, and feminism to sex, TikTok and relationships. Every Tuesday, I’ll host intimate conversations with special guests, including celebs, incredible authors, close friends, and people I admire. In the week’s second episode, I’ll talk about whatever’s happening in the world and what it’s making me think about, including anecdotes, personal opinions and, ideally, some thought provoking questions. Finally, you can subscribe to a third exclusive episode each week where you get to be part of the show. I’ll go through your comments and answer your DMs.

My hope is that this series will be a place where you can come to have fun and take part in thoughtful discourse.

High Low with EmRata is a Sony Music Entertainment, Somethin' Else, and Bitch Era Media production.

Talk Back: Porn, Dissociating and Kinks

Talk Back: Porn, Dissociating and Kinks

This Week I had very interesting submissions. I had one listener call in and ask if porn contributes to rape culture. Another listener dissociates during sex and wants to know how we can make sex for women more about enjoyment and our last call in is from someone is interested in kinks.

    Dating in the public eye?

    Dating in the public eye?

The truth about having your love life on blast? It’s pretty weird. I allude to my dating life a lot on the show but I wanted to take the opportunity this week to talk to all of you about what it’s really like to be dating in the public eye. I discuss paparazzi, dating multiple people at the same time Lori Harvey and Taylor swift, ofc.

    Jeremy O. Harris

    Jeremy O. Harris

When asked what Slave Play is about, Jeremy O. Harris responds, “Slave Play is a slave play. And you should go see it.” The play, which wrestled with sex and race, was as controversial as it was successful. Today we talk about his time spent at the Yale School of Drama, the origins of Slave Play, his approach to writing and much more.

    F*ck the NFL? EmRata Asks

    F*ck the NFL? EmRata Asks

Sorry but…F*ck The NFL? Just this season, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a heart attack live on the field. Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was knocked unconscious after his second concussion in a month. Football is obviously incredibly violent- so why does the league work so hard to cover up the risk it poses to players’ safety?  The short answer: money. This week I investigate the history of violence in the NFL, the rise in concern surrounding CTE, and the NFL’s continued reluctance to prioritize human beings over profits.

    Donatella Versace

    Donatella Versace

'Icon' is definitely an overused word these days, but when it comes to Donatella Versace, THE Donatella Versace, there is no better description. Donatella comes into the studio baring Versace pillows and cups and sits down to give us rare insights into the house of Versace: she describes her childhood in the South of Italy, what the fashion industry was like in the late seventies, how Gianni ushered in the supermodel era and the experience of losing her brother. We also talk Britney, Lil Nas X, Naomi, and even share a special announcement about who the face of the SS23 Versace campaign is. Donatella shares her wisdom around business and her philosophy around life, which yes, includes a "Bitch Era" attitude.

Love you emrata but I agree with Mia.

I hope in the future you’ll challenge guests like Chloe who say stuff like that. Mia was right it was deluded and dangerous

Wow! Her lack of education and intelligence isn’t attractive

Chloe Cherry. Where to begin. She’s basically denigrating a whole group of people who are making an honest living working in the food service industry. She is so out of touch to think that young women today would be faced with only two options for their futures - waitressing or porn. That’s really ignorant. Also she said porn would be a good job for people with mental health. Ok I’m sorry I tried but this shows you how out of touch people in Hollywood are. Emily is basically co-signing everything people on her show say when she should be saying “Wait whut?!” It’s this whole everything goes attitude that has led us to where we are. Is Chloe Cherry really the litmus test as to who we want to be praising? She made it on a show because she was in porn not because she’s interesting or knowledgeable or brings anything to the table. She’s talking like she’s the next Margot Robbie or something. Doubtful anyone will be checking for her in the future. She’s a curiosity nothing more. You think you can’t be astonished at the lack of awareness of people in Hollywood but then you listen to a show like this. Mind boggling. I lost IQ points for every minute I listened.
