    The  @HealthcareFacilitiesNetwork  was talking with a colleague and they said to us, "Why don't you record an episode about the JFK assassination." This really is not what we do here at the Network until we thought, what if we cover it from the perspective of the Director of Facilities Management and the Director of Emergency Management? So that is what we did; what was the impact on @ParklandMemorialHospital  Facilities Department when JFK fatefully visited Dallas in November 1963?

    Thanks to our guests David Neely (Maine Medical Center) and Jeffrey Henne (University of Pennsylvania Health) for taking on those roles at Parkland, circa 1963.

    Chapter updates and facility management briefs: Florida and New England

    Chapter updates and facility management briefs: Florida and New England

    High Reliability, The Healthcare FM Podcast is brought to you by Gosselin/Martin Associates. Our show discusses the issues, challenges, and opportunities within the Healthcare Facilities Management (FM) function.

    Today, we present two conversations we conducted with Adam Mayle,  Administrative Director of Facilities, Memorial Regional Hospital (Hollywood, FL), and President of the Florida Healthcare Engineering Association (FHEA) and Dann Boyer, Director of Facilities Operations at Sturdy Health (Attleboro, MA) and Membership Chair at the New England Healthcare Engineers Society (NEHES).

    In this episode, we first hear from Adam. Prior to delivering our presentation "The Healthcare Facility Professional's Toolbox," we sat down to speak with Adam at FHEA's Fall Conference. We covered much ground, including:

    * Rebuilding membership post-Covid;
    * How FHEA networking helped to solve a state-wide oxygen issue;
    * Camaraderie among healthcare facility management professionals;
    * The impact that heavy employee workloads are having on Engineering Chapters.

    Then, we hear from Dann, who joins us to discuss the challenges and opportunities of recruiting new members to Affiliated Chapters. Dann describes the benefit of NEHES' new Corporate Membership initiative and details his "big hairy audacious goal" for NEHES.

    Contact me if you are in an Engineering Chapter and want to record an episode. The Healthcare Facilities Network is willing and looking to promote the excellent work Chapters perform.

    As always, thank you for listening.
