Historically Queer
The Historically Queer podcast is your HQ for intimate moments from our movements, as told by LGBTQ activists of color. For this biweekly podcast, I will talk to folks from across the country and dig deep into my archives. You will meet some of the pioneers who paved the way for LGBTQ rights and raised our political consciousness about the ways race, gender, and sexuality are inseparable. Together, we will connect the present to the past by uncovering stories of queer activism by people of color throughout the decades. Historically Queer will give you a deeper understanding of the present, reignite our sense of belonging, and propel us to action.

Dear Alice, I am so glad I took a class in college called Asian American Women. The book we use is Asian American women and men by Yen Le Espiritu. She has mentioned you in the preface. I am about to go to UCLA for East Asian Studies and the words your dear professor has given to you are really inspiring and engaging for my future journey too. I don’t know if you will ever read this or continue to upload more. I just want to say thank you and wish you all the best in this special time.
Can’t wait for more!

I am including this episode as required listening for my Intro to Asian American Studies class to begin a discussion about who is considered part of Asian American experiences and communities and who is not- and an example of the brave step of telling your own stories.
looking forward!
