Galadriel's Song of Eldamar
This song was composed right at the time we were beginning the History of Arda podcast.
Years ago, when I read Tolkien aloud to my friend, I would improvise tunes and sing all the songs in the book to her, often accompanied by piano. These were never planned in advance, and I enjoyed them for their spontaneity. This version of Galadriel's Song of Eldamar happened the same way. I turned on the recorder and just made up a tune as I was reading the song from 'The Lord of the Rings,' and I was happy enough with what happened in that first take that I layered a few more tracks over it for atmosphere, and ended up with what you have here. I offer it in gratitude for all the support I've had on this podcast this year.
My sincere thanks to Aric Blare for all the time he gave to working our way through the mythological portion of the Silmarillion, to Alex for going on the 'Rings of Power' journey with me, and to all of you for listening!
Namárië, my friends.

Customer Reviews
Great content, annoying sidekick host
Dean is very knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to. He clearly researches a lot and I enjoy his takes. Frankly, I have no idea what Aric is doing on the podcast. He doesn’t seem to be more than a very casual Tolkien reader, and he’s always trying to crack the most unfunny jokes and makes weird sound effects. Over all it’s a good run down/summary of The Silmarillion.
Edit since there’s a new co-host: Alex is sort of just the female version of Aric, also making weird sound effects and dragging out jokes that don’t land and aren’t funny. The bit about Sauron as Ezra Miller was super unfunny, and she kept just beating that dead horse.
Love this!
I have loved reading a chapter of the Silmarillion and then listening to these guys summarize it. It’s helped me understand more dense parts of the book. Really hope they are planning on continuing where they left off with the Silmarillion when Rings of Power came out because I’m now on Ch. 21!!
Is EVERY battle gonna have that stupid music?
Seriously, love the show, but that pulls me out of the story. I get the bit, but come on.
