Entertaining, informative, insightful

Chris manages to treat very complex topics in an impressively organized, clear, even-handed, and professional-sounding way. It is also presented in an entertaining and approachable way – the regular summary sections and episodes are really helpful. The history of humanity is a big undertaking, and I have listened from the first episodes beginning with evolution of the species and am almost caught up now, at right around the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom. I’m not sure how far he will take this project, but I hope he truly makes it a history of the world rather than the Eurocentric history that I learned in elementary school (I.e., Egypt >> Greece >> Rome >> something about how the European Middle Ages are confusing and sucked >> Renaissance >> America). I know sources can be fewer or harder to access in some cases, but I hope at least the other major civilizations (like China, India, Islam) if not the many more fascinating regions that might get overshadowed by them are also considered part of the History of the World. I’ll keep listening, so hope to hear that stuff too! Also, Chris, please tell me you compose and perform the podcast’s music yourself??

Human History, Cool

Just started listening, but Chris seems solid in presenting an unbiased picture of human history.

A layman’s guild to the history of mankind

Chris does an amazing job of putting facts out there in s manner that is entertaining and informative at the same time. He is very humble in his delivery (doesn’t shove his opinions down our throats)and giving the facts as he sees them for us to make our own thoughts on.
Keep up the good work.
