History Time

After finishink a late winter marathon of Vikinks and The Last Kingdom, I needed more. I’m glad I found this podcast, very interestink and informative. Now I need even more. Alas, my need for ancient/medieval history is insatiable. Pete does a great job! I didn’t notice at first but after the first six episodes I started hearink him endink words that end with “G” with a “K”sound. I can’t ignore it at this point, I must power through. What’s odd is, he doesn’t do it when presentink his sponsors.

Great history pods that are still Entertaining after several years

I was looking for a new history podcast so tried the episode on Spanish Flu. You lost me when you generalized to Ft. Riley, when it was Camp Funston. Camp Funston is part of the Ft. Riley Complex now but was 5miles east of the post when it was established and possibly (probably) played a role in the proliferation of Spanish Flu.

After reading other’s reviews I have to say my take on this is different. Though I enjoy the historical research and attention to detail, I mainly listen to this for the storytelling. I like the music and presentation. I get transported to another time and place. I got chills when he describes things like when the Vikings were navigating their boat’s between the icebergs. It’s exactly what I need to forget the days stress. The rich history is icing on the cake for me.
