Shannon interviews Historian, Renee Davis, about women's roles in society from a historical perspective.  Renee is a historian and devoted advocate for women’s rights. She sits on the Board of Directors for UniteWomen.org Action and served as their Executive Vice President of Political Action, also creating their "Unite Against Rape" campaign to raise public awareness of the issues of rape, human trafficking and violence against women.

Combining her love of history with her love of activism, Renee led UniteWomen.org - in partnership with several other prestigious organizations including the National Women's History Museum, the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History - through the planning of the Suffrage Centennial Celebration, which was a week of events in D.C. leading up to a reenactment of the Woman Suffrage Parade of 1913.

Renee is a graduate of McNeese State University, where she won a medal for her Senior Thesis, and she is currently working on her M.A. at Louisiana Tech University. Renee runs a Facebook page focused on Women’s History, and she lectures about the role of social media in modern politics

The show delves deeply into the worlds of writers, artists, celebrities, and community leaders and offers listeners food for thought on ways to better themselves and the world around them.
