Customer Reviews
Surprising, informative and practical
This exceptional BBC series should perhaps be titled “Great European Cities” since all eight episodes- so far- have been European cities. Overlooking both the more familiar Amsterdam and London, the producer includes Oslo and Budapest. The consistent format sounds dry - invite a prominent city historian to summarize a city’s history and offer a few tips for modern travelers- yet becomes rather entertaining and quite informative.
As both a Covid armchair tourist and experienced world traveler, the series has proven an enjoyable, first-class podcast for this American eager to see more of Europe- and more of the world. Will the next season include Tokyo, Jerusalem, Shanghai, Seoul, New York, Moscow, Amsterdam and even London? Let’s dwell in the possibilities.
