Good local fun
I just moved to the area and love talk radio. This show is great because I’ve been able to learn about local events, shopping, personalities (from politicians to business owners to chamber of commerce folks to writers to neighbors, etc). Easy to listen to and he keeps the show moving along nicely.
The Worst of American Radio
KVEC is one of the best examples of how scummy the AM radio business can get. For decades they have polluted the public discourse because broadcasters who misinform the public with dishonest and downright ugly diatribes, like Rush Limbaugh are extremely profitable.
KVEC’s star host, Dave Congalton, who has made a career as the cowardly devil’s advocate is about where KVEC maxes out with what it has to offer the community. Which is to say the most you could ever hope for from this station is a guy rich in unearned confidence and petty arrogance who is nothing more than a fat fish in a small pond of mediocrity.
