HOPE is Here focuses on issues such as divorce, financial stress, cancer, death of a loved one, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, rejection, anger and many others. I will share from my personal journey of overcoming some of the obstacles that caused me pain and shame – being sexually violated as a child, pre-mature baldness, divorce and bankruptcy. I also share from John Maxwell’s book, “Failing Forward.” I am fortunate to have my own story in Chapter 6 about how I overcame personal and professional failures. Because of my HOPE in Jesus I am now able to share hope with those who find themselves in similar overwhelming situations.

    Put Your Clothes On!

    Put Your Clothes On!

Today, Greg reminds us to put on our clothes each morning! Is this something you typically forget? Before you get too confused, Greg is referring to putting on your spiritual clothing! Jesus lives in all of us when invited. Putting on spiritual clothing – fruits of the spirit – is not easy. It’s always for our own good, to help us grow to be more like Jesus. What clothing do you need to be reminded to put on today?

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt 3)

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt 3)

God is always with us, even through the changes we experience in the seasons of our lives. 2 Corinthians 1:1-10 reminds us that God is a God of comfort! God comforts us so that we can comfort others. Greg asks us today, who is it we are refreshing? Who are you reaching out to in order to comfort as God has comforted us? The more we suffer, the more God will provide His comfort. God hurts with us and for us and will help us patiently endure the pain that we are in. We can expect God’s comfort. Tune in for 14-minutes of encouragement!

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt 2)

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt 2)

When we are trying to make changes – emotionally, emotionally, physically, financially, professionally – sometimes we can run out of fuel. Sometimes we can get frustrated and want to give up. Today, Greg points out that 2 Corinthians 1:1-10 reminds us that God’s peace and comfort are with us every step of the way. Just focus on one step forward at a time and even if we take a step back from time to time, we can keep moving forward!

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt1)

Expecting Comfort Through the Changes (pt1)

Why is Greg singing “Gloom, despair, and agony on me” from the old Hee Haw television show?

Romans 12:2 challenges us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Greg shares God’s words in 2 Corinthians 1:1-10 to comfort us through life. Change isn’t easy, is it? Humbling ourselves isn’t easy either! God wants to do a good thing in our lives if we just let him!
