92 episodes

The Horrible Imaginings Podcast is the new home of The Monster Island Resort, a place where the themes or characteristics of horror and fear can be thought about and discussed. It’s not a place for film reviews per say, but hopefully for something more in depth into the world of dread, monsters, kaiju, slashers, and science gone wrong. Interviews are more conversational and brief. Most episodes are limited to 30 minutes or less. There is also Monster Island Resort Storytime Edition, where classic gothic literature tales are read aloud, audiobook style.

My Fave

Smart, entertaining, thoughtful and never alienating. I like Miguel's inclusive definition of horror--from Classical mythology to Gothic novels to slasher films. Even when I know nothing about the topic, I still find MIR interesting.

Educational, Informational and Entertainmental

Knowledge gets dropped like atomic fists in this highly enjoyable podcast, where Miguel speaks highly of the world of monsters. His passion is audible. He is a fan but he's also a scholar, and his positive attitude makes each episode a pleasure.

Miguel is knowledgable without being pretentious. His passion for all the things that go bump in the nigh comes through in an easy to listen to fun show. Keep up the amazing work.
