S9E12 - “The Death Card" - Horror Hill
Well, hello there, listeners, and welcome back to Horror Hill. I’m Erik Peabody, your humble host, and I’m back in the studio after an unexpected adventure last week. You can hear all about that over on the main Chilling Tales for Dark Nights channel, but for now, let me just say thatI’m glad I keep a spare head in a jar. Now that I’m back among the living and ready for action, we’re going to be staving off our post-Halloween blues with a particularly grisly double-feature this evening. Both of these stories are horrifically gruesome in various ways, listeners, so gird your loins, and we’ll jump in.

Evil Idol: Resurrection 2023
Evil Idol, Chilling Tales for Dark Nights’ voice acting competition, is back for 2023! That’s right: Evil Idol: Resurrection takes place this November!
It starts Monday, November 27, with a special twist! This year, we’ve left a spot in the competition open for one of our listeners, with no prior voice acting experience, to join the fray! To claim the lucky 13th position, what you need to do is send us an email by midnight central time on Sunday, November 12, and include a vocal recording of yourself, explaining in two minutes or less, why you should compete in this year’s Evil Idol competition as our wild card candidate!
Along with the vocal recording, please include your name, phone number – if applicable, your email address, a short written bio, and a headshot photograph suitable for use in your profile, if you happen to be chosen. The subject line should read: EVIL IDOL RESURRECTION WILD CARD AUDITION.
The email should be sent to: natalie@chillingtalesfordarknights.com.
The production team at CTFDN will choose one contestant at random out of those interested, and we will cover the cost to have you record at a local studio, so that you can sound your very best when going toe-to-toe with the other voice talents in the competition.
Not only that, but you’ll be teamed up – at absolutely no cost to you – with one of the stellar authors on our team, to craft a custom tale in collaboration that will highlight your talents, and if you so choose, incorporate your ideas!
So, if you’ve been dying for an opportunity to be a part of our channel and podcasts, here’s your chance! Don’t miss your opportunity, the first in several years, to join our team, and have your voice heard by thousands! And who knows? You might even WIN!
Visit www.chillingtalesfordarknights.com for more details beginning the first week of November.

Eyes of Amityville
This will be a 3 parter. I’m loving the first installment. Always been a big fan of this clean horror program.
OMG, WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING NOT LISTENING TO THIS PODCAST!!!!
Omg, I love this podcast soooo much it is literally like the best podcast ever I love how are you sleep do it if you like horror stories, then you would fall asleep in like 30 seconds!!
Great but for how they do the ads
One of the better horror podcasts. The narrator has a great voice for reading, his voice is distinctive without being distracting. If it weren’t for the ads, it would be 5 stars. Don’t get me wrong— I understand why there are ads, but the placement of the ads, how they’re inserted into the story so as to cause the most disruption is just obnoxious. And they’re often louder than the stories, so they hurt my ears since I listen with headphones. It really wouldn’t hurt anybody if they put in a soft warning noise so you knew the next line was going to be an ad and maybe lowered the volume to at least match the story. Not only do I not have the money to subscribe to all these podcasts, I hate being bullied into it with obnoxious ads placements.
