Hotel management as a career offers an opportunity to discover oneself beyond your own limits, to be creative. It also gives you opportunities to travel and experience different cultures and countries which leads you to being part of a broader network of managers and hotel owners in the industry.  ⁣



However doing it as a career demands a lot of passion and dedication because of the physical strains, long hours of work, working on public holidays and weekend and shift hours involved.⁣



Franck's Journey in the front office and rooms division department, started in 2010 with one of the Protea Hotels in South Africa, Pretoria where he started as a trainee with no salary and was working as receptionist, night audit, reliever, bell boy, housekeeping attendant and telephone operator. To him, gaining the relevant knowledge and skills was more important than money. ⁣



And so he grew, from being a receptionist to a various managerial positions. ⁣



In this episode, Franck shares how Hotel Management is more than a career but a passion. ⁣



Franck says that having the right personality, will make you last longer and stand out in the industry no matter the amount of money you make out of it.⁣



He also shares his advice to young interns and hospitality enthusiast seeking to join the industry. ⁣
