A House Call was when a doctor would come to your house when you were sick. There was the black medical bag that had all of the supplies that went with the doctor. This went away with managed care, HMO’s and PPO’s and more access to medical facilities. But in the days of a House Call, when you needed one, you really needed one! Jesus met a man that had a daughter that needed a House Call. The daughter was sick and Jesus, the Great Physician, was on the way to the house when they found that the little girl had died.
