Shannon Fernando-Rubera is the Founder and CEO of Alabaster International. Alabaster International is an aid organisation that works closely with local agencies in Africa to identify communities of indigenous who are underresourced and isolated and provide them with the medical assistance they need to thrive.
In this episode, Shannon shares how her experiences as a nurse led to the creation of Alabaster International. She explains how her organisation provides much-needed healthcare to women and children in Kenya, South Sudan, and Ethiopia. Shannon also discusses Enset, the ‘false banana’ capable of feeding millions across the continent.
