Camber founders Mady Maio & Lauren Wolfen, how do you build an app?

Lauren Wolfen and Mady Maio are the co-founders of Camber. The two friends struck up a working relationship based on a mutual interest and frustration with sharing travel recommendations amongst their friends. The duo channeled their angst into creating Camber, which is a beta app that allows you to list out your favorite places by city, follow friends to see theirs, and view those recommendations on an all-inclusive map view. It’s a place for you to share your favorite spots, plan your next adventure, and discover near or far. Or as they like to say, Camber is "a place for places."

In this episode of How Do You Do? Podcast, Ben asks Lauren and Mady about how they built an app without any technical experience, how they've approached community-building and branding, how they deal with the naysayers and challenges that come with being entrepreneurs, and more.

FURI Sport co-founders Erick Mathelier & Michelle Spiro, how do you democratize tennis?

FURI Sport co-founders Erick Mathelier & Michelle Spiro, how do you democratize tennis?

Erick Mathelier and Michell Spiro are the co-founders of FURI Sport. The NY natives met in the summer of 2014, bonding over a common passion for tennis, business, fashion, and community building. As they talked, they started to envision a place where sport and city life meet. Beginning with a technologically advanced, but inclusively priced tennis racquet, they reimagined a world where there are no barriers to play. They designed bags that are both functional and fashionable, synonymous with city style. And they pictured a new generation of young people with access to a more equitable future through partnerships with urban sports programs in under-privileged neighborhoods.

In this episode of How Do You Do? Podcast, Ben asks Erick and Michelle about collaborating with a Japanese racket maestro to create the company's tennis rackets; acquiring customers in a market filled with big-name, traditional competitors; their efforts to make tennis more inclusive; and more.
