Very Helpful

I found the information in these tutorials to be very helpful and easy to understand. As a recording novice, tips learned from these short podcasts did make my drum recordings sound better. In my opinion, it is a lot easier to understand mic positioning when showed, and TutorialDEPOT per usual, did a nice job of this. I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn a few good miking technique rules of thumb.

Tips

Great information if you're looking for tips, however as a "How to" in my opinion should provide much more information, and should be formatted in a step by step manner, which in turn would be a much longer podcast video. The tips I felt were pretty common sense, not that I didn't learn anything. I found the video and audio quality decent.

The description of the podcast videos didn't really elude to what would be discussed in the podcast videos and the podcast videos didn't really clarify why certain gear was paired with each instrument and how it would affect the mastered sound. The podcasts also didn't really clarify why genre's were brought up in the description but it was never discussed and again the tips were pretty much general tips.

In spite of all that I'd still have my own students watch this for tips and just to gain another perspective or see something that they may not have thought of. The information that is given is easy to understand and digest for a novice. Nonetheless tips are tips!

This review is based on the free podcast videos and I still have yet to see the premium bundle which at that point I'll update this review or write another.

Very Informative!

Great video cast! Short and to the point. Presenter's terminology was clear and concise. He did not use a lot of recording terms the beginner or average drummer would not know! Great Job!
