How to Stop Yelling Peace and Parenting: How to Parent without Punishments

    • Parenting

When we believe our children are being difficult, we tend to use yelling to make them listen to us. But yelling can only go so far before it starts to form cracks in the relationship with our kids and leave them with emotional scars that might never go away. At some point, we need to ask ourselves: Is my child’s obedience worth losing their love and respect?
In this solo episode, I share my experience of being a parent who used to yell and how I continue to overcome that urge with hopes that I can encourage other parents to do the same.
Remember, the road of parenthood is not paved with fear, but with love.

Episode Highlights:
How yelling played a role in my life
How yelling can jeopardize our relationship with our children
Using connection and empathy as a replacement for yelling
My advice on how to calm down and process your emotions
The long-term effects yelling has on our children

Looking for ways to parent without yelling or threatening? Do you want to start using connection to better handle and guide your kids? I know I’ve definitely been there. Through my years of learning and experience, I’ve started to reach out and help other parents overcome their parenting challenges with a much calmer and empathetic approach. You can check out my mini-course called How to Stop Yelling right here!
