Episode 041 - 5 Steps To Support The Marginalized with Carlos Whittaker

It’s been a hot minute since it was just you and I. And I’ve missed you!!!

Listen I LOVE our guests. I love learning from their POV, but every once in a while I love to just unload some learnings that the world has been showing me and today I unpack some learnings on how to truly be a better ally towards people groups that your heart aligns with.

    We go through 5 steps…

    Define and Embrace The Definition
    Make It Personal
    Lesson Up
    Lose The Comfort
    Get In The Game

    This isn’t an exhaustive list…

But I thin kit will help get you on the right track to make 2022 a year that we see those who have been oppressed or ignored finally be given a runway towards true equality.

And you are the key to unlocking that gift!

Episode 040 - Military Spouses, Black Staff In White Churches, & What's Next For Racial Reconciliation. Guest Dante Stewart

Episode 040 - Military Spouses, Black Staff In White Churches, & What's Next For Racial Reconciliation. Guest Dante Stewart

This is a pen and paper podcast fam. Like seriously. Go grab it. The amount of nuggets and morals of wisdom that Dante Stewart drops for the human Hope Fam is ridiculous. Dante is a husband, father, football player, service member spouse, preacher, racial reconciliator (did I just make up a word?) But most importantly he is a hope dealer. He comes hard in this episode and gives us a lot to work on and a lot of hope when it comes to what it means to continue to fight for the equal treatment of everybody in America.

Today's show will end up being a favorite for years to come.

Keep up with Dante https://www.instagram.com/stewartdantec/ or

Episode 039 - Canadian Pride, Deconstructing Faith, & How To Avoid Burnout with Carey Nieuwhof

Episode 039 - Canadian Pride, Deconstructing Faith, & How To Avoid Burnout with Carey Nieuwhof

I know I have a lot of people who don’t see faith the same way I do and I love that. Today I introduce you to one of my most trusted and safe friends. Safe for wherever you are on your faith journey…

Carey Nieuwhof is a pastor from north of Toronto, Canada who is one of those I would send the most skeptical of doubters to.

Not because he will convince you not to be skeptical…

But because he will simply love you for you.

On today’s show Carey unpacks what it means to him to have Canadian pride, how he grew up in a post Christian environment and where he sees the deconstructing of American evangelicalism fitting into our story, and shares his story on burning out and helps us avoid those very same pitfalls…

You can find out more about Carey at https://careynieuwhof.com/ and you can follow him on socials @careynieuwhof

And no I’ve never been able to spell his name bu heart.

Episode 038 - He spent 20 years living in a NYC sky rise... then suddenly and surprisingly moved to a farm in PA… Scott Harrison on transition and dreaming again…

After a decade of indulging his darkest vices as a nightclub promoter, Scott declared spiritual, moral, and emotional bankruptcy. He spent two years on a hospital ship off the coast of Liberia, saw the effects of dirty water firsthand, and came back to New York City on a mission.

He spent the next 15 years building one of the most impactful charities on the planet… And then covid hit…

Here is how Scott and Charity Water are moving into this next season of their mission…

Episode 036 - How to coexists with PEOPLE YOU CAN’T STAND with Kirsten Powers…

Episode 036 - How to coexists with PEOPLE YOU CAN’T STAND with Kirsten Powers…

Kirsten has spent her career as a political commentator on Fox News, CNN, and USA Today. She watched firsthand from in front of the camera as America spiraled towards chaos during the 2016 and 2020 elections. And today she helps us ALL realize how to get it BACK TOGETHER…

Kirsten offers a template for a different kind of America, one where we can engage with people who hold opposing views without sacrificing our values or our passionate beliefs in the causes we care about. It’s a culture that embraces repentance and repair, a process through which those who have caused harm can take responsibility and work toward righting the wrongs in which they have participated. It’s a place where we’re empowered to see the possibility in other people, even people who are driving us nuts.

Wow

What a gift Carlos has and is! He has an incredible range and variety of guests. He is inspiring in how he is using this platform, and I always walk away from listening encouraged and wanting to do better.

Please do more episodes where we listen to calls from listeners about wins/miracles in their lives. I cry every time! Right now especially, we need these stories of miracles.

Episode 037 Not A Fairytale

These two are both so encouraging & fun to listen to! Engaging & informative. I appreciate all that was said about our complicated history. It’s not either/or it’s AND. We have to be honest about our past to move forward. Sharon strongly encourages us to do this as well as teach our children the uncomfortable things in our past & present! Thank you so much

Excellent conversations!

I really enjoy the conversations and discussions on this podcast. I do not agree with everything Carlis or his guest say (except his wife, Heather) but I listen to learn not reply or debate. This podcast will give you Hope, inspire you, and will move you emotionally.
