46 episodes

The Hunger Games Trilogy, by Suzanne Collins, takes place in a post apocalyptic future were the United States of America has collapsed and supplanted by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts.
Each year, two young representatives between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected from each district to participate in The Hunger Games. The televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch.
If you can get over the brutal concept of young kids fighting each other to the death for people’s entertainment and the fact that this series was originally written for a very young audience, we feel that you will come to enjoy this series like millions of people around the world have.
Cliff and Stephanie invite you to join them as they share their initial reaction to this story as they are read the series for the the first time and then as they cover the movie(s) and other materials related to the series. Come Join The Community!

Want to like it but...

I really wanted to like this podcast because they were both coming into it without having read ahead. But Stephanie just can’t NOT read ahead and it is very frustrating. I will try a few more episodes but if she keeps reading ahead then there is no fun in listening to this. I wanted them to talk about their theories and where they think the book/series is going to go, but with Stephanie reading ahead it does not allow that☹️

Nope

Trying to listen to the first episode and it’s nearly 20 minutes about them. They then go into synopsis mode and they’re describing it in an abstract way with a questioning inflection after every sentence like they barely remember reading it. Lots of “um” and mispronunciations and interruptions of each other and they don’t have an outline at all. They don’t have any plan. They don’t know the world.
