Episode 71 - How to do networking in 15 mins

Episode 71 - How to do networking in 15 mins

The best way to make a name for yourself professionally is through networking, and you know I always want to help you grow. For this reason, today, I will teach you how to do networking in just 15 minutes.

Networking helps entrepreneurs, businessmen, and workers to build professional networks and connects people with similar interests to obtain better professional opportunities.

If you want to know how to do it, listen to this episode cause I'll share eight tips to help you do it successfully.

    HIGHLIGHTS EPISODE
    [2:48] 1) Be open-minded.
It is the first step and the most important because it starts everything. Be open to what you can learn from others cause you never know how that knowledge can benefit you in the future.

    [4:06] 2) Smile.
Smile.. with your eyes. Smiling with your eyes is super important because it gives the other person the impression that you are open to communicating with them.

    [5:32] 3) Listen.
Be attentive to the information the person in front of you is sharing because it is the only way to know if their interests are aligned with ours.

    [7:00] 4) Be present.
Don't get distracted by your phone because it can give the impression that you really don't care what they're saying. Paying attention will let others know that you are willing to create a connection with them.

    [8:10] 5) Follow up.
Once you get a contact, keep in touch with them outside of the event or on social media, this will help create a stronger bond.

    [10:14] 6) Be authentic.
You don't need to transform yourself into something you are not just to prove that you're capable of something. Be yourself. If you try to be someone else, others will notice, believe me, and that's not good for your image.

    [11:37] 7) Be visible.
Do not hide behind others, and do not be afraid to speak, that will not help you get more contacts.

    [13:48] 8) Be aware.
If you are aware of the things around you, you will be able to identify opportunities faster.

    QUOTES

Episode 70 - The 5 levels of Redundancy

Being made redundant is not an easy experience. We go through different stages until we finally accept it and move on with our lives.

Although it is a stressful experience, it allows us to re-train, gain new skills and explore work opportunities in different industries.

In this episode, I want to help you overcome the different levels of redundancy and show you how you can take advantage of it. I'll also be talking about my personal experience, in which I lived twice amid the pandemic, and how this led me to start my podcast and coaching business.

Remember, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
[2:04] My own experience dealing with redundancy.

[12:57] What are the five levels of redundancy?
Being fired, for many, is like the loss of a loved one. Therefore, these levels or stages are similar to the grief ones, they range from denial to acceptance.

[28:13] Why is clarity so important before starting a new job?
It is important because it gives you the possibility to enjoy your next job more. Ask yourself what you want to do with your life and start working on it.

Episode 69 - What is failure for you?

Episode 69 - What is failure for you?

    What is failure for you?

We all have different opinions of what failure is, and this opinion reflects our mentality and position before adversity.

Although failure is a result contrary to success, what if I told you that failure is necessary to be successful? Hard to believe, right?

As Oprah Winfrey says: "Failure is another stepping stone to greatness."

The more we fail, the more tools we have to improve, to continue climbing to success. The important thing is to learn from our mistakes and keep working on what we want to achieve.

In this episode, I want us to talk about failure and learn how to improve our relationship with it. I invite you to listen to it, and I hope it will be helpful for you.

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
[1:00] How do you see failure?
The way we see failure will determine our success. Think about how many times you have seen others fail, even yourself. Knowing your position before a failure will help you have a better relationship with it.

    [9:43] What is failure?
As I said, we all have different points of view about it, but for me, failure is about acquiring experience and the necessary tools to achieve what I set out to do. What is failure for you?

[13:45] Failure and the comfort zone.
It is normal to aspire to a better job position or want to have a business on our own, but we do nothing for fear of leaving our comfort zone. I know that leaving our comfort zone does not guarantee success, but if we do not try, we will never know.

[18:50] What to do when we feel that we have failed?
    1) Think about why you are feeling like that.
    2) Think about where that thought comes from and if it is true.
    3) Think that you can learn from that experience.
    4) Be kind to yourself.

    QUOTES
We cannot change what happened in the past, but you are able to change what you get from that experience and use it to your benefit. — PatriciaSuccess without failure is not success.  — Patricia.
