Love it....

Love listening to these two women chat! Can’t wait to learn something new every time I turn on this podcast. I’m a Christian and know how weird stuff gets when you misinterpret scripture. Jesus came to fulfill the law.... meaning, he finished the atonement for his people! He completed it and abolished the law! Traditions, customs and routines can be really helpful in practicing your faith,(excluding most of the weird stuff that happened in your cult) because it helps one build character and discipline in the areas you wish to personally grow! The leaders of your cult were trying to earn their own salvation...of course, as corrupt as many of them were, they probably did all of these rituals out of guilt over their own indiscretions and then projected their attitudes and depravity onto their followers. Such textbook narcissists!!!!

So, I’m a very rare listener who has not only listened to every episode, I actually have been listening from Day 1 (technically negative days since they “debuted” on the MFM Facebook group before they posted an episode). Let me say I love Deb and Laura, but this podcast isn’t really about the cult. Laura rarely lets Deb talk about the details, often interrupting her in the middle of a story and telling Her it’s too gross or horrible to continue. Sorry Laura, but isn’t that kind of why we’re here: to out the atrocities committed by the cult? They say to skip ahead to episode 21, but by that point you’d really have no idea what this cult was about and how incredible it was that Deb actually got the hell out! Mostly this podcast is Deb and Laura making fun of Online Posts from the cult (but both refuse to actually watch the material so it’s usually just a lot of “little man posted a video. Idk what it’s about, I didn’t watch it.”) This podcast can have some good chatter but if you’re looking about details about the cult, this isn’t for you. This is really just Deb trying to work through emotions while talking to a good friend.

Edit! Please!

I was thinking about this pod today for unknown reasons … could you go back to the beginning, clean up the dead air, irrelevant stuff, improve sound (somehow) and make it sound better than … than it does. Listen to interview shows and see how it's done.

I'm disappointed. It's BFF talking about ridiculous experiences- a genré that needs to be extremely well done to be interesting. I'm knowledgeable about cults, religious and not, so the concept sounds great.

This falls short in production value- wow! It sounds terrible! and another problem beginner podcasters have- apparently they have no concept of editing. There's nothing guiding their conversation as it happens and no sign of editing. Episodes of 55- 70 minutes are no guarantee of quality. The length makes me hesitate but I'll give them a chance on Overcast knowing that with the very best way to shorten pauses, boost voices and increase speed smoothly the absurd hour is really half of that.

I've only listened to early episodes. Maybe they improve? I guess I'll skip forward and see if they improve from their grade of D at the beginning.
