Do you have a spouse who voted for a different candidate? An uncle or sibling you dread seeing at Thanksgiving? A lifelong friend with whom you just can't see eye to eye? As political divisiveness reaches a fever pitch in the Trump era, psychotherapist Jeanne Safer takes on the uncivil war between Republicans, Democrats, and every indie party in between in the new podcast, I Love You But I Hate Your Politics. On the show, Dr. Safer will show family and friends how to ensure their loving relationships not only survive, but thrive, despite political differences and disagreements.

Dylan & people who "hate" Dylan
Dylan Marron started getting a lot of online hate when his left-leaning videos went viral on YouTube. But instead of deflecting these vile comments, Dylan did something extraordinary: He engaged with them. The result is a new podcast that shows what radical empathy can accomplish.

Saved me and my relationship
I am a moderate Democrat with an Independent partner (who nominally has supported Donald Trump)- and a vociferous, Left-leaning family (who think Donald Trump and his supporters are evil). At times over the last six years I've had bruising conflicts with my partner but also felt increasingly alienated from my Left-leaning family and friends and the way they have judged others whose politics differ from theirs. I love them all- but this is hard. I feel trapped, caught in the middle, and mystified. I have found practical guidance and solace from Dr. Jeanne Safer and all those she interviewed via this podcast and her book. I have implemented all these strategies and things have improved. Love has flourished. It's still kind of hard. I admire the couples and friends in the podcast for being who they are and for rising above the partisan fray, as I am doing. I am forever grateful for Dr. Safer's book, which I have read and re-read. The podcast is particularly beautiful and poignant because you hear the friends and partners telling their own stories. So many thanks.

Great podcast
Hearing the stories of the friends and couples that differ politically has been incredibly helpful. The way their differences are dealt with and the love and respect they still have for each other is enlightening. Love this podcast! Thank you for all you’ve done.
