Mollie Tibbetts Case

Y’all do a great job presenting the cases, while maintaining respectfulness to the victims and families. I really appreciate your perspectives and knowledge.

In this case I did feel it was out of place to bring in the political aspect of the case. The reality was an illegal undocumented alien committed a heinous murder and if he had been stopped from entering our country this would have never happened. It’s just the reality and worthy of noting.

Regarding the illegal alien question, I have a question…do illegal aliens get provided the same rights as American citizens? Could you argue that the Miranda rights do not apply to them since they are not citizens?

two great perspectives!

I LOVE this pod as well as the hosts! They have the perfect mannerisms that are not only thorough, but respectful, entertaining & they each add their thoughts and opinions based on perspective and experience. Only negative is the amount of ads, all audiochuck pods have so many ads which makes me crazy. Just knock them out at the beginning so we don’t have to stop the story.

Victim Blaming

Great podcast, but you lose a star for continuing to allow your guests to use terms such as “true victim.” Calling someone a “true victim” implies that only they don’t deserve to be murdered. Just because someone lives what you might consider a “high-risk” lifestyle doesn’t make it okay to kill them. Doing drugs, doing sex work, being out late, being drunk, being part of a marginalized community: those things don’t make someone less of a victim. No one deserves to be murdered, and allowing the use of the term “true victim” is placing the blame on other victims and not the perpetrators. Shame on you for continuing to use that outdated terminology
