Welcome to Diet Starts Tomorrow, a podcast hosted by Remy Kassimir and Emily Lubin. In a world where wellness can make you unwell and beauty standards feel anything but standard, Betches Media presents a podcast that digs into the emotional side of well-being. Listen as we shed our former beliefs that made us feel bad about ourselves — we’re looking at you, toxic diet culture — and laugh while doing it. We’re here to amuse your bouche. Dealing With Other People’s Opinions (With Sami & Jared)
Aleen is officially on maternity leave, so Sami is Back For Seconds with DST fan-favorite Jared Freid. They start out with a convo about how all restaurants are basically the same these days. Then, Sami asks Jared how he’s coping with all the extra exposure from the Netflix special, and they dive into the psychology of Internet commenters. Later, Jared tells a very DST story about a visit to Boca, and Sami asks how his parents would respond to him setting some boundaries.

What You Should Know Before Freezing Your Eggs Ft. Lauren Makler & Dr. Meera Shah
Inspired by a previous Dear DST about egg donation, Remy and Emily are joined by Lauren Makler, co-founder and CEO of Cofertility, as well as reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Meera Shah. Remy and Emily start by asking Lauren about the mission of Cofertility and how they’re making egg freezing more accessible, and Dr. Shah answers all their medical questions about the egg freezing process. Plus, Remy and Emily ask listener-submitted questions about egg donation, egg freezing, fertility, and more.

Justice For Bebe Rexha & Bea Arthur
On this week’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, the Scoop Du Jour is Bebe Rexha’s pre-VMAs TikTok about not wanting to attend because she was feeling negatively about her body. Remy and Emily share how much they relate to that feeling, and give Bebe her flowers for showing up anyway (in a dress with visible buttcheek, no less). Later, Remy and Emily share a DSTeachable Moment where a listener kindly wrote in with some tips and tricks from culinary school in response to questions on our episode with Monica D’Agostino. Finally, they share their Last Licks, and Remy reflects on her Golden Girls viewing sessions.

How A Health Scare Changed My Relationship With Exercise Ft. Kenice Mobley
On today’s episode, Remy and Emily are joined by comedian and writer Kenice Mobley to talk about how a major health scare impacted her life. Kenice walks them through the whole story of her stroke, from what she remembers from that night to the recovery process she’s been going through for the last year. Remy and Emily ask about the stroke’s impact on her physical and mental health, and Kenice opens up about how she has coped through all the challenges and change. Plus, she reflects on her new one man show and how it might be different had the stroke never happened.

Are Aesthetic Goals Ever Helpful?
On this week's episode, Remy and Emily dive right into the Scoop Du Jour, a new TikTok trend where people edit themselves to be "100 pounds less" to use as inspiration for weight loss. They talk about why these A.I. images might be even more dangerous than the "thinspo" from our Tumblr days. Why do we torture ourselves with all these filters in the first place? Later, they answer a Dear DST email from a listener who had to attend a talk by David Sinclair at a work conference about his scientific work around avoiding aging. The listener was outraged by his advice to live on 2 meals (with no snacks) and a huge roster of supplements. Is she right to feel triggered? Would the audience's reaction have been different if it was a woman suggesting this limited diet? Plus, Remy and Emily talk about whether or not it's worth it to live such a restricted life, even if it does provide longevity.

Sami & Aleen Get Spiritual
Sami and Aleen are Back For Seconds, and this week they’re getting ~spiritual.~ Sami breaks down her recent reiki appointment, including who her “spiritual guides” might be and all the souvenirs she got to take home. Aleen talks about how she’s open to spirituality, but her first instinct is to find the BS. (Like, couldn’t the reiki healer have googled Sami??) Later, they delve deeper into their feelings around spirituality, religion, and why we’re here on earth at all.

Resubscribed!
I unsubscribed because I was sick of hearing about diet and body image stuff but I missed Sami and Aleen! I came in with a new attitude and am loving the vulnerable conversations Remy and Emily have! Happy to listen again ♥️
New hosts are so flat and definitely not worth it
Ive been a fan of betches media for forever but this one is the only podcast ive taken off of my roster from them. Hoping Sami and Aileen can come back to this because whatever this is definitely not working.
So annoying you have to pay to listen to the old eps with S&A
Had to update my review because it’s so annoying you have to pay to listen to the old episodes with Aleen and Sami. No one wants the new girls but they’re trying to make them a thing but forcing you to pay or only listen to them. They are so flat and dull it’s PAINFUL to listen to. I stopped listening but when I saw Jared was on I thought I’d give it another shot. Couldn’t make it through five minutes - LOVE Jared but even he couldn’t make these girls even remotely interesting or funny.
Old review:
Someone needs to say it! Very poor content from out of touch, privileged women who use buzzword after buzzword as a replacement for actual insight. So, so cringe. And stop trying to make “journ” happen!! I’ve never had a visceral reaction to hearing a word before but every time they say journ it triggers my gag reflex 🤮
