Episode 101 The Bachelorette: I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying (Season 17, Week 3)

Episode 101 The Bachelorette: I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying (Season 17, Week 3)

This week we saw some VERY difficult, but important conversations. But first, more of the Karl drama, where he is eventually sent packing. We also say goodbye to John Hershey #JusticeForJohn, who is also our BIPOC highlight.

Later we see Nick Vi-None appear on the show for the one-millionth time. He hosts a group date where everyone shares very personal stories about themselves. Katie shares her journey to becoming the confident sex-positive woman she is now and shares her experience with non-consensual sex (TRIGGER WARNING: SEXUAL ASSAULT- conversation begins at 35:04).

Later we see a one-on-one date with Michael A. where he shares his love story with his late wife Laura. By the end of the episode, we are all cried out, just in time for a bunch of drama about Thomas *insert eye roll here*.

Episode 100 True Crime: The Padre Island Beach Camper Murders of James and Michelle Butler

Episode 100 True Crime: The Padre Island Beach Camper Murders of James and Michelle Butler

Holy crap we cannot believe we have recorded 100 episodes! Thank you so much for your support over the last year-ish. We so very much appreciate you. And of course, we love you and definitely mean it.

Last week was the Bachelorette Season 17 premiere, with Katie Thurston as the lead! Jeff, the skin salesman (you read that right), arrived in an old, dusty Breaking Bad RV as his entrance. It did nothing but creep us and Katie out. He may (allegedly) be a murderer.

(10:19) James and Michelle Butler seem like a truly cool couple, full of life, laughter, and adventure. Originally from New Hampshire, they set out on a trip across the country. They were camping in their RV on the beach in Padre Island, Texas when two creeps (allegedly) murdered them to steal their truck and trailer and headed to Mexico.

Episode 99 The Bachelorette: Sufferkating through Karl (Season 17, Week 2)

Episode 99 The Bachelorette: Sufferkating through Karl (Season 17, Week 2)

Friendly reminder that this is in fact a Tayshia Adams Stan podcast, Tay and KB are doing a great job as hosts this season. However, we would not want to stand next to her if we were the Bachelorette lead, she would put us to shame.

This week we saw two group dates and a one on one date. The first group date was heavily sex-themed, and included a virgin arc, of course. The first one on one date of the season goes to Greg, Danielle’s absolute favorite. And then, we get a mud wrestling group date - Danielle loves it, Megan hates it (for good reason).

We are not Karl fans. He’s gotta go. Point. Blank. Period.

We do not say goodbye to any BIPOC contestants. Although we would like to have seen Aaron and Karl say their goodbyes in this episode.

Episode 98 True Crime: The Murder of Amanda “Mandy” Stavik

Episode 98 True Crime: The Murder of Amanda “Mandy” Stavik

The Bachelorette is back! Danielle covers a story in the state of Washington, where Katie is from.

Before the story, Danielle shares a couple of updates about things going on with her life… There’s a lot going on. This segment contains a domestic violence homicide and a story about a miscarriage. If this is triggering for you, and not something you can listen to, we completely understand. You can fast forward to the true crime story at 21:54. CONTENT WARNING: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, MISCARRIAGE

(21:54) Mandy Stavik was a woman who enjoyed everything and everyone enjoyed her. When she was murdered in the small town of Acme, Washington, the community began searching for her high and low. Mandy’s case went cold until 2013 when two women chatting about true crime made a connection about who Mandy’s killer might be. Then in 2017, a woman took the investigation into her own hands and the killer was identified. CONTENT WARNING: SEXUAL ASSAULT

Episode 97 The Bachelorette: Bao Was NOT in the Box (Season 17, Week 1)

This week we meet the men and see them come out of the limo on night one. We also find out who is in the box and it is NOT Bao. Get your riot gear ready if he isn’t on Michelle’s season.

So Fun!

This is the perfect show for anyone with a fascination for the macabre and a guilty pleasure that must be satiated. In the past, I’d never really been able to get into the bachelor/ette franchise, but this show has definitely made me reconsider it. They make the show sound wild, funny and interesting and their commentary is always entertaining. Then, when you need something a little darker, they bring you a true crime story you have probably never heard before. I listen to a LOT of true crime and they almost always manage to find something completely new to me, which is refreshing. Great show! It’s a strange concept but it works so well

So Unique

This is such a unique combination of topics for one podcast to cover! I love the mix of the lighter commentary on The Bachelor/Bachelorette and the heavier true crime episodes. The hosts have great chemistry, and their exchanges are down to earth, which makes it feel like you’re chatting with friends.
