We dive deep into understanding personality types, the value of different perspectives, and how to increase your productivity. This all centers around increased awareness of development to better your personal and professional life.
Perspective: Conclusion of the Chapter
On this episode Ariel and Roger talk about their conclusion of a chapter, and taking a hiatus from the podcast, after a year of learning, unlocking and sharing the lessons and the wisdom with other people. Ariel and Roger reflect on previous episodes - on what has been said, what has been learned, what has been unlocked – what has been done and how it has been done. They also share about their current chapters in their lives and professional journeys.
Quote of the week is by Mel Gibson: “I think any kind of hiatus one takes in an artistic journey is going to make a huge difference. The pause will inform the choices that you make.” The chapter informs so much of your future decisions, and the hiatus, after that chapter concludes, can as well.
Productivity: Openness or Closure?
On this episode Ariel and Roger talk about closure. There is a natural desire for closure, but sometimes we become so fixated on wanting the closure that we miss out the opportunity that is around us. If we focus on one thing, we might miss some other things. But the opposite might also be true. The question is: what am I craving more? Am I craving more openness and spontaneity, or am I craving more closure and structure? And how do I provide that to myself in the giving situation?
Quote of the week is by Alexander Graham Bell: “Sometimes we stare so long at the door that is closing that we see too late the one that is open”.
Personality: Is Sensitivity Subjective?
On this episode Ariel and Roger talk about sensitivity and how personality types deal with sensitivity. Being sensitive can be defined as easily hurt or damaged (emotionally), or, being delicately aware of the attitudes and feelings of others. They discuss on how being too sensitive can result in a negative feedback or criticism and they share their life experience when it comes to their sensitivity. Quote of the week is by Doreen Virtue: “When we realize that sensitivity is a gift and not a liability, that’s when we start to get our strength.”
Perspective: Digging the Foundation
On this episode Ariel and Roger are talking about digging the foundation and building a strong house. Of course, foundation and house are metaphors for acquiring experience, putting people in place, and learning things required for building a strong business.
Quote of the week is by Gordon B. Hinckley: “You can't build a great building on a weak foundation. You must have a solid foundation if you're going to have a strong superstructure.”
Productivity: Create Capacity
On this episode Ariel and Roger talk about “think time” and its impact on productivity, mindset and mental health. In these stressful times, we need think time to process what’s happening in our lives and vicinity in order to protect our mental health, and be more productive. There are 4 kinds of think time: Creative, Strategic, Visionary, and Narrow/Project-based
Quote for this week is by Peter F. Drucker: There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.
Personality: Tools In Your Tool Box
On this week’s show, Ariel and Roger talk about personality type assessment tools and increasing your self-awareness. Finding out your personality type should provide you an insight why you think differently from others, and it will help you to understand yourself better. Ariel and Roger talk about some of those tools and which they prefer.
Quote of the week is by Don Richard Riso: ““If we observe ourselves truthfully and non-judgmentally, seeing the mechanisms of our personality in action, we can wake up, and our lives can be a miraculous unfolding of beauty and joy.”
