    89. Hobby Money Vs. Business Money

    89. Hobby Money Vs. Business Money

If you’re like most social sellers, you joined this business model because you needed a way to make a few hundred dollars a month to make ends meet. And before you knew it, you started booking parties, making new friends, and growing a team. At some point along the way, this hobby turned into an actual business.

Now that you’re running a business, it’s time to start treating it like one instead of the hobby you started out with. And the best place to start is with your money.

Kristen is here this week to talk about the differences between hobby money and business money and the mindset shift that has to happen in order for your business to truly grow. Grab a pen and paper! You’re going to want to take notes.

    Here are a few takeaways:

At what point you should stop treating your business like a hobby Importance of having a separate business checking account Learning to leverage your time and energy in order to focus on income-producing activities The difference between strategic debt and regular debt
More often than not, how you view money is based on your own personal beliefs. Learning to view money as a tool in order to grow and scale your business in a sustainable way will unlock potential you never knew you had.

    87. Upline or Leader

    87. Upline or Leader

Are you managing your team or are you leading your team? One will keep your business stagnant and you’ll be scrambling to keep up with your daily business and team’s needs. The other will allow you to trust yourself, your systems, and your people.

Many people think: when I make XYZ or when I hit my next rank up, I’ll become a leader in my business. But leadership doesn’t just magically come with a rank. You have to intentionally develop those skills and teach them to your team. Leaders aren’t born, leaders are made. The good news is that you can learn the skills to become a great leader!

Here are a few key takeaways:

The main differences between being an upline and a leader Why many people suffer from imposter syndrome after a rank up The reason a team hides from a manager and seeks out a leader Why taking radical responsibility over your results is a key trait in a leader Being a leader isn’t about rank or status-it’s an identity How systems help you in your ability to lead your team
Stepping into the leadership role is one of the more challenging parts of growing your business. But if you master this skill, you will have more peace, more growth, and yes: more strong leaders on your team.

    86. Leadership Development with Becky, Amanda, and Lizzy

    86. Leadership Development with Becky, Amanda, and Lizzy

When you decided to jump into network marketing you probably thought you had a decent grasp on what would be expected of you. You were prepared to throw a few parties, promote your products on social media, and talk with others about your offers. But what you might not have expected was to eventually be leading a team of your own.

And like most social sellers, you learned as you went. Which lead to feeling frazzled and burnt out and questioning whether you should keep going.

Well, if this sounds like you, then you’re in good company. In today’s bonus episode Kristen is sitting down with three members of the current round of the Purpose and Profit 6 Figure Mastermind: Becky, Amanda, and Lizzy where they talk about their trials with learning how to lead and why the leadership development inside the Mastermind has been the key to their sustainable success.

Here are a few key takeaways:

Importance of selling the vision and systems for long term buy-in vs instant gratification Why a lack of a long term mindset might be keeping you in manager mode How contemplating a move from a place of maintaining to growth can feel exhausting Explanation of personal money vs business money, and how not all money is equal How your team benefits when you stop treating your business like a hobby
Being a leader is hard work, but when you work smarter instead of harder you not only set yourself up for success but also your entire team as well. Implementing the right systems and investing in yourself will have long-lasting effects allowing you to step out of management mode and into the role of CEO where you belong.

    85. Phases of Belief

    85. Phases of Belief

Happy New Year! 2022 has arrived and with it a blank slate full of endless possibilities and excitement for what’s ahead. If you’re like most people, you begin each year by setting resolutions to break bad habits, or by setting goals that you’d like to reach by the end of the year or quarter. Instead of setting the same tired, lackluster goals you always do, what would happen if instead, you set your sites on that one, big impossible goal you’ve been kicking around for while?

What happens when you think of that big scary goal you’ve been afraid to go after? Kristen knows. And she’s back this week, fresh off of her blockbuster 3-day event, to talk about what happens when you set impossible goals and what’s needed to turn them into inevitabilities.

The 3 phases of belief What causes the shutdown when you confront your impossible goals Why labeling a goal as impossible may actually be a cop-out Explanation of acute vs chronic disappointment and how it’s harming your business Kristen’s own impossible goals and her path to achieving them
Which sounds more uncomfortable to you: confronting the impossible goal, or being in the same place as you are now this time next year? Failure is going to happen, there’s no need to fear it. We all fail. But if you never give yourself the chance to meet the goal, you’ll never reach it. Challenge yourself this year to be brave and go after that impossible goal.

Can't say enough good things about this!

I've been back in Direct Sales since June of 2020 and have been looking for "something" to reignite my fire and help me get on the right path. Well, Kristen has been the answer I've been looking for. Sometimes after a podcast (I just finished #21, so I have sways to go) I feel like I probably have a mark on my head with her "smacking me" with truth bombs! Lol.

Her insight is amazing! Definitely looking to join her Social Selling Academy" to get myself to the next level.

Motherhood and Business

I really loved this episode because I’m a mom who works full-time as well as trying to build a business. In my mind, I need to have everything perfect, toys put away, put away clutter, laundry is caught up, landscaping tended to….and it’s exhausting! I learned that I need to prioritize what I value and start budgeting so I can get help in other areas.
