Ep 147 | Are We Too Harsh On Pro-Abortion Catholics?

Ep 147 | Are We Too Harsh On Pro-Abortion Catholics?

I recently had a friend of mine gracefully challenge me about a story I posted on Instagram which read "You cannot be Catholic and Pro-Choice". What I really meant was that you cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion, but I think that was sufficiently clear.

We often hear the more tolerant side of Christianity voice opinions that some of us are too judgmental and harsh on those who disagree with us on certain social and political issues. What many fail to realize is that at their core these issues are not simply about politics and society, but more importantly they are rooted in morality.

And morality matters. Our understanding of morality and our willingness to live in accordance with it ultimately determine the eternal destiny of our soul.

So are we too harsh on pro-abortion Christians? Can you really be Catholic and pro-choice? I share my answers to these questions in today's episode.

*Note*: This episode was recorded before Archbishop Cordileone made his statement regarding Nancy Pelosi receiving Holy Communion. I support that decision and some of the content from today's episode is relevant to that, but does not explicitly discuss it since I did not know about it at the time.

Ep 146 | Modern Dating Culture and Toxic Masculinity w/ Mary Kate Knorr

Ep 146 | Modern Dating Culture and Toxic Masculinity w/ Mary Kate Knorr

Mary Kate Knorr is one of the most bold and awesome young catholics in the game right now. She is determined to help share the Gospel as best she can, regardless of what negative reactions it draws from others.

A while back, she had some pretty hot takes on Taylor Swift's feministic positions in her songs and interviews. On this episode, Mary Kate and I discuss those and some other controversial moments/issues from social media.

I would highly encourage you to go follow Mary Kate @marykateknorr and to pray for her and her upcoming marriage!

Ep 145 | Finding An Excellent Spouse w/ Jack and Josie Delac

We all know what a STRUGGLE it can be to even find a good man or woman to date, let alone to find one's spouse. Jack and Josie have a wonderful story of how they met, fell in love, and made the most courageous commitment to one another through the Sacrament of Marriage.
We hope today's episode will fill you with hope, give you some laughs, and help you to see the ways God works in our lives to lead us to where He wants us to be!

Ep 144 | Focusing Your Life on God w/ David Patterson from @YesCatholic

Ep 144 | Focusing Your Life on God w/ David Patterson from @YesCatholic

Life is full of distractions. It can be incredibly difficult to keep God in your top 10 priorities, let alone the primary focus of your life.

David Patterson is a great example of what it looks like to live a God-centered life. He is an incredible man who has gone on a great journey of faith, trust, and transformation to become who he is today.

David runs the @yescatholic Instagram page where he interviews catholic men and women about their own journey of faith. This time, I was able to get David on the other side of the interview! We had a great conversation about a wide range of topics.

Please go follow David @yescatholic and check out his website here!

    Ep 143 | Catholic Influencers

    Ep 143 | Catholic Influencers

About a month ago, there was a very interesting blog released from the truly excellent Catholic ministry The Young Catholic Woman. This blog was titled Why I unfollowed you: An open letter to Catholic influencers. Knowing that I, myself, have had a number of frustrations with popular catholics on social media and in the big time catholic speaker circle, you can assume that I was eager to read what the author had to say.
She broke down her reasons for unfollowing into three main categories. One I wholeheartedly agreed with, one I mostly disagreed with, and one was about 50/50. In today's episode, I break down her three reasons and share my thoughts on each of them.

Disclaimer:  I have a great deal of respect and appreciation for the work that is done at The Young Catholic Woman. I also have no hard feelings toward the author of the blog, since I have never interacted with her in any way. I would have gladly posted this same blog on my own website, because I agree with many points that it makes and believe we have to be open to tolerating things that we may disagree with, so long as they don't lead people away from the Church or the Truth.

Ep 142 | Escaping Death Roe: A Rant On Pro-Choice Catholics

Ep 142 | Escaping Death Roe: A Rant On Pro-Choice Catholics

What a week! We're in for a great deal of controversy, debate, protests, and probably some riots. There will be absolute insanity for the next few months most likely.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade, what a momentous occasion. But is it too early to celebrate? Should Catholics be hesitant to support this move? What can we do to be on the right side of history? Can you be Catholic and pro-abortion?

I try to tackle all these issues and more in today's episode. Enjoy the rant!

Excellent podcast

Seeking Excellence is a breath of fresh air for listeners. Imagine a young adult coming to his own viewpoints on major issues such as racism, abortion, same-sex marriage, immigration, gender ideology, etc. based on his own lived experiences and his ability to think critically, rather than blindly accepting the woke talking points from mainstream media and Twitter.
There is hope for the US and this podcast is part of the solution. May it go viral. Please listen.
