08 - CONFLICT - Teddy & Faye - A therapist's take on conflict, toxic conflict and relationship breakdown

Welcome to Series 2 of the OPENHOUSE Podcast and our first OPEN(HEART) episode where Louise is joined by the incredible Dr Tari Mack - a leading clinical psychologist and a celebrity relationship expert.

In this episode, Louise & Tari go deep into the recent Teddy & Faye argument that recently blew up on Love Island and use it as a vehicle to discuss conflict and toxic conflict, what does it mean when we get triggered, where and who do we learn our anger responses from, and is anger self-sabotage or does it hold the key to something deeper?

Dr Tari also takes the pair through who was gaslighting who in this situation, who should have walked away; and whether or not she would advise the two to repair their relationship. ⠀
They also look at the biology of anger, what healthy conflict means; and the four 'horseman' - the four communication and conflict errors that have been statistically proven to be most likely to lead to divorce and relationship breakdown.

13 - TOXIC RELATIONSHIP - I don't judge Justin or Hailey - I've been on both sides of a toxic relationship

Following on from Episode 12 and our analysis of Justin & Hailey and all things 'couple goals or codependency' - join Louise in one of her most raw solo episodes yet where she discusses her own personal experience being on both sides of a toxic relationship - both like Justin, becoming reliant on the excessive love, care and support of another - as well as being Hailey, trying to care for someone troubled, often erratic and volatile.

The best podcast!

I love this podcast. Honestly it’s a great source of free therapy! I’ve listened to almost every episode. I love how Louise has actual therapists and experts on the show to talk about some common dating experiences. I recommend this to all my friends!

Insightful and Helpful Podcast

LOOK NO FURTHER, I found this podcast 2 months ago while on my healing journey. Louise is such a doll, listening to this podcast made me realize I’m not the only one out there struggling and working on myself. She provides real life issues she has been through or is going through. The transparency and the information from the therapists is so helpful. This podcast and its community is something I am very thankful to be apart of!

LITERALLY STOP WHAT UR DOING & LISTEN

main takeaway: listen to this fricken podcast. period. stumbled across Openhouse and (im not joking) I literally listened to every episode in a week. even thought about queueing it up during my sleep lowkey. I still go to therapy but like dr. tari & louise have basically healed me at this point tbh hahah. but in all seriousness, this podcast not only helped me thru some difficult things, but also encouraged me to learn from every experience (good & bad!). I used to hold so much bitterness toward certain people/things in my life, but I now look at those things as ways to gain more understanding for myself and others. im aware that it sounds SO cliche but I mean it from the bottom of my heart. also- reached out to Louise and she is a GEM of a human being. this world is lucky to have someone like her. overall- listen to this podcast if u wanna be a better person
