Nearly 50 years later, one of those cases was finally solved, but the second, very similar homicide is still waiting for answers. The case file for the homicide of Ada Bean shows that the investigation uncovered numerous leads and tons of evidence at the time, but none of it led to an arrest. Immersive and Easy Listening

This show perfectly articulates a story without the gory details that can leave a person feeling uneasy. This is the first show I’ve listened to continuously, without pause. I appreciate the important topics that are highlighted in several episodes, and I appreciate the respect Kylie displays in the stories. Kylie is very calm and articulate, this show is literally “easy listening”. Overall, one of the best true crime podcasts I’ve heard.

Doesn’t feel as authentic anymore

I started binging when Audiochuck took over and really enjoyed Kylie’s voice and storytelling. I’ve been catching up on episodes but decided to listen to a recent one and I had to restart to make sure it was still Kylie. Her voice was full of warmth and character but it’s become very serious and monotonous. It makes me not want to finish the past episodes as I know what’s to come. It’s disappointing and I can tell the different once audiochuck took over which I enjoy their content but this didn’t seem to need a change.

Thoughtful, we’ll-paced and intriguing

I’m a huge fan of all things audiochuck and subscribed to Dark Down East after Ashley Flowers announced it was being added to the audiochuck podcast family. Like any true Crime Junkie, I’m a binger, so I started from thee beginning of Kylie’s catalogue and I’m working my way to the latest episodes. I’m so impressed with the thoughtfulness of the writing, the pacing of the episodes and the details of the cases. It’s easy to tell Kylie cares about the victims, which makes this show a perfect fit for audiochuck. Excited to keep listening 🦞 Update: Just listened to the Jon Pownall episode, and Kylie’s description at the end of what it was like to lose her mother hit me hard. “Like a warm blanket I never knew I had wrapped around me was ripped away and I’ll never feel quite as warm ever again.” I don’t think I could describe better the feeling of losing my dad. Hearing it put into words like that helped me understand my own feelings better than ever about that loss. Kylie is truly a gifted writer. And I’m so thankful she’s using that gift to share these victims’ stories with such compassion and honesty. ❤️
