E128 Retire in Seville Province, Spain
Jean Roberts yearned for a home in Spain, but her husband, Adrian, was not so keen on the idea. He was content living full-time in their home in England. Finally, he agreed, contingent upon the property being 30,000 euros or less believing Jean would never be able to meet the challenge. Adrian underestimated Jean’s desire to live, at least part-time, in Spain as she purchased a fixer-upper townhouse in a countryside town in Seville Province. Find out more about the couple's Spanish adventures on Episode 128 of Retire There with Gil & Gene.

Really enjoy this podcast
I’ve only listened to 6 of the episodes and I am going to go through all of them I enjoy them so much. The hosts are not intrusive in their questions and let the guests speak freely. I like hearing about new places to retire, especially the international destinations. The only thing I would like more of is the housing costs, either rental amounts or purchase. Saying the cost of living is low is one thing but hearing what rents actually are is another. I found this podcast by accident but so glad I did. Good work
I Wanted to Like This
We live in the EU. I have never heard so many uninformed people speaking about managing their lives in the EU. They hired professionals and then try to speak like experts. Most sound like they despise the United States (yet continue to own US rental properties). Their privilege is transparently obvious. Most egregious of all, is the lack of specific information and spurious claims provided during the course of the conversation. The interviews ramble on about nothing and when they finally get to “something” it is either generalized or makes no sense.
I really wanted to like this.
Vicarious travel!
Love this podcast. It really gives you an intimate look into different places and people’s experiences choosing where to retire. Very inspiring and the hosts are fun to listen to. Great show!
Update: I’m still enjoying this and appreciate the excellent content every week. I live in Brooklyn too and am in the same stage of life as the hosts, so it is very relevant and I’m getting a lot of great ideas. Thank you Gil and Gene!
