S3:E10 Carrying Pilgrim Prayers on my Camino to the Tomb of St. Peter

Nearly 70 pilgrims and families asked me to pray on their behalf at cathedrals and places of natural beauty throughout Italy during my Via Francigena pilgrimage to Rome. Born of all types of human conditions, their prayers were simultaneously the lightest and heaviest thing I carried along my journey. The experience changed me, my Camino, and the way I see view the power of pilgrimage.

An award-winning author, Brian John Skillen grew up with dyslexia and a third-grade reading and spelling level in high school. He never in a million years thought he would be an author. Brian used his ability to turn thoughts backward to become an internationally touring dance instructor, who found the Camino de Santiago while on tour in Spain. In the small town of Castrojeriz, he was first told about a secret code of the Knights Templar on the Camino de Santiago. As he hiked the Camino across Spain, the code played out along the route, inspiring the best-selling Through a Field of Stars series.

Really Appreciate This Podcast

I have to say - not being able to walk the Camino this year because of COVID really got to me. I found this podcast and it’s been an absolutely wonderful way to stay connected to the Camino spirit. BUEN CAMINO, PEREGRINOS!

Early stages of learning about camino

My favorite are the interview episodes so far! And learning people’s stories.

Highland Camino 2000 ,

Content excellent but…

The actual content and choice of people interviews are interesting, and the actual conversations enjoyable and pack in a lot of great information. The big ‘minus’ is the music and voice you’re bombarded with at the intro/ending. For something called ‘sacred steps,’ you’d think something less grating and annoying would've been chosen. Big turn-off. I really just wanted to listen to Guy Hayward of the British pilgrimage trust so thank goodness you can skip the grating parts.
